As cliche as it might sounds, Muse A had fallen in love with their best friend. Well, technically they've had a crush on Muse B ever since they first met back in middle school, but over the years as they've grown and made it to high school, Muse A's fallen more in love each day.
The problem was though... Muse B's feelings weren't mutual. How did they know? Well, a short while ago Muse A had been diagnosed with the Hanahaki Disease; which they had always thought to be a myth or some fairytale, of course up until they were diagnosed with it.
The disease slowly started to get worse the more and more they hung out with Muse B, and it worsened when they learned Muse B had gotten a (girlfriend/boyfriend).
Muse A kept all this a secret though, not wanting to lose their best friend if they found out they were in love with them. It was getting harder and harder to keep it a secret though, almost constantly having to head to the bathroom whenever they hung out to cough up blood and flower petals.

Recently, Muse B had came over unexpectantly to hang out at Muse A's while they were out at the store. They each had spare keys to each other's houses so they could just let themselves in in case the other was busy. Though since Muse A hadn't been expecting anyone over, especially their best friend/crush, they didn't get the chance to clean up their latest accident, blood and many flower petals covering a spot on the floor of the living room. Clearly shocked, Muse B wiped out their phone and began furiously texting Muse A.
While at the store, Muse A felt a buzz in their pocket, taking out their phone and seeing it was Muse B.

" Hey (Muse A) "
" Are you ok? "
" Like, really ok? "

Furrowing their brows in confusion, Muse A quickly began replying back.

" ??? "
" Yeah, of course "
" what brought this up? "

" (Muse A) please, just tell me "

" what do you mean?? There's nothing to tell "

" Then why did I find these all over your living room floor? "

After the texts, Muse B sent a picture of Muse A's living room floor, where blood stained the carpet and flower petals were scattered in bunches. Muse A began to panic, eyes wide as they scrambled their brain in attempts to come up with some excuse. Then, Muse B sent another text.

" Why didn't you tell me you had Hanahaki Disease? "
