Everybody wants to differ. To stand out from the rest, to be special. I myself wanted that, and I would wish for something to happen in my normal life every single day. When it happened I realized I would rather die than live like that. I was 18 years old when that happened and I promise that If I could go back and change my past I would have never gone to that windmill.
But before we get onto that, I will have to explain some things that will enlighten you and help you understand my story. Oh and just as a reminder, I would like you to keep everything that you read from now on for yourself only. They know what you are doing. I'm Max and this is my origin story.
I come from a very small village near Minnesota called Ashville. Its name probably came from the old times when the mines here in Ashville exploded and as a result the whole place was filled with ashes, thus the name Ashville. I didn't care that much to find out If this story was real, so I never searched about it. Now I know that story better than anyone cause I experienced it first hand, but I'll explain that later. It was a cold and cloudy day. Here in Ashville the weather is always like that. As a newly adult that I was I had plans for the winter holidays, and had organized most of what I would be doing every day. I would wake up at 7 a.m., get ready, eat something light, and go for a jog. I didn't brush my teeth though because I knew that as soon as I returned I would eat more and then brush them, I know I sound like a psycho. Then I would stay home, watch a couple movies, play board games with my sister, talk with my online friend James and then fall asleep. The winter holidays lasted two weeks and for those weeks I would do that every single day. Except that day.
It was December 27th. No celebrations or parties that day. No New Year's Eve or Christmas Eve. Just a plain day for relaxation. I woke up feeling kind of sick but I didn't want to miss a day without exercising. My village has a lot of attractions even though it is small. My favorite one was the old Windmill on top of the hill. From there you can see the whole village. I was going there every day to work out, but never really went in the Windmill because it was old and could collapse at any time. That day, after 18 years of my entire life, I decided to explore it. When I reached it I was already tired and didn't have a lot of energy, but I was determined to see what's inside. The door was supposed to be locked, but after all these years the lock had rusted and with a single push I got inside. Nothing. I saw nothing. It was just an empty structure, no stairs, no second floor. Just rocks and dirt. Suddenly I heard a huge explosion and then the ground started shaking. The next thing I remember is being tied on a wooden column somewhere dark. I was in a mine, confused and afraid.
