"Wait, what?" blurted Mrs. Carlisle at the same time Mr. Carlisle said, "Woah, slow down." They stopped, looked at each other, then his mother picked up.

"Parker, you can't go anywhere until we figure this out. We can keep your," she paused, "abilities, hidden, but we can't hide the fact that you're a freaking giant all the sudden," she said with conviction. Parker knew better than to try to argue. Besides, she had a point.

"Alright, what if I don't leave the house. I can test things out in here."

"Yeah, and I can help," Peyton agreed.

"Me too," Penny added. Peyton and Parker exchanged looks, not sure how much help their sister could really be, but they kept their doubt to themselves. Mr. And Mrs. Carlisle exchanged looks. This would give them a chance to discuss things without the kids. Finally, Mr. Carlisle nodded.

"Alright, don't leave the house. Be careful and don't do anything that can get your sister or brother hurt."

"And try not to break anything," their mother added, though her tone sounded skeptical.

"What about the back yard?"

"Shed and patio only, I don't want to risk the neighbors seeing more than they already could have," their dad answered.

"Oh, and no practicing on Peyton or Pen," Mrs. Carlisle added as an afterthought.

"Ah, Mom," Peyton and Parker groaned, though Penelope was nodding her head in full agreement with her mother.

"Penny got to do it already, why can't I?" Peyton whined.

"Penny didn't get to do it. Penny was dragged into it. Penny did not want to do it then and I still don't," responded Pen with and indignant huff.

"No arguments. This is too new. We don't know anything right now. It's not worth the risks," their mom insisted.

"Yes, ma'am," the boys agreed. With the rules established, his mom and dad went to talk in the privacy of their bedroom while the three youngest Carlisle's raced to Parker's room.

"Alright, how do you want to do this?" Penny asked.

"Yeah, what do you want to try first?" Peyton added, bouncing with excitement. Parker attempted to be methodical. He pulled out a piece of his scratch paper and pen. It made the most sense to him to start with a comprehensive list of things about his power that should or could be tested and how. Penny and Peyton agreed. Fifteen minutes later their list was full. Parker was not so sure about all of their ideas, but they had a strong start. He was past ready to just get moving.

"I just need to do it," he said, eagerly, handing the list to Pen as he stood and stretched. "I can start by getting comfortable jumping. You know, just ease into it, get used to it."

"Yeah, and maybe learn how to land," Peyton snickered. Penny giggled and Parker rolled his eyes.

"I'm going to jump from here to the kitchen then back," he said, walking to the center of his room. Penny ran to the kitchen to watch his arrival while Peyton stayed in the bedroom to see if he could make it back. Parker closed his eyes, took a deep relaxing breath and concentrated on the feeling of teleporting. It happened much faster this time. One moment he was there and the next, he was facing a smiling Penny in the center of the kitchen.

"Do you feel sick or like you are about to pass out again?" Penny asked.

"No, I feel good," he replied. He took a deep breath closed his eyes and popped back to his bedroom.

"I think I'm starting to get the hang of it." Parker said before he flashed back to the kitchen. Yeah, he was definitely starting to understand the feeling he got when he called his power. This time, when he though back to his room, he gave the image a little mental twist, aiming for a different spot. Sure enough, his reappearance put him at the door where intended. He made the round trip one more time, this time as quickly as possible, with his eyes open. The two corresponding flashes were so quick, he actually caught the residual smoke from his first transition waft out of existence as he reappeared across the room.
