Something Beautiful

Sonnet 1 14.7.11

I lie with you in grass and pink clover

Fearful of the arms you bear against me

And creeping clouds that pass the sun over

Darkening the shivering golden sea

I'll attempt to be what I think you want

Watching each movement with my wanting eyes

Betrayed by my motions so aberrant

And the base, lustful moans within my sighs

I await the usual wave of hatred

As your hands draw my body closer still

Yet find the horror has been abated

I am content to give in to your will

I can feel the body beneath me shake

This new found yearning an agonised ache.

Something Beautiful

Closing my eyes is not enough anymore

It shuts out the worlds mediocre distractions

But does nothing for my other senses

You scent indescribable, even now

I can feel it fading from my memory

And yet it has only been five days

My fingertips clutch at the air, missing you

Wanting to be lost in the curls at your neck

Or trace the valley above your hip bone

Your taste when we kiss, lingers for hours after

But I can not remember it in this moment

And yet it has only been five days

All sounds are empty and lacking to my ears now

For they have been spoiled by your wonderful voice

Small things are the most painful in their absence

A single look, a smile, finishing off my thoughts

Making me feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt

And yet it has only been five days

-------------------------------------------------

Bliss

A ridiculous smile dances on lips

And I have no desire to remove it

My mouth committing Freudian slips

But you’re too polite to say it

Your tangled disarray of wild hair

The thousand shades, changing almost weekly

A nonchalant fashion like you don’t care

A humility spoken meekly

My southern gentleman, chivalrous way

The Texan drawl that makes my knees weak

My reason to smile every day

You have all the traits I could ever seek.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Rath (Not Wrath)

Plagued by your blissful countenance

All things considered, could be worse

You encouraged my reluctance

Said it was part of being yours

When I blink, you’re always there

Eyes shining like ancient Jade

Southern charm and fashionable flair

I knew I’d never make the grade

But when I blink, you’re all mine

In my dreams and fantasies

And maybe when you’ve got the time

You’ll make an honest girl of me
