A/N: HAPPY LATE AND EARLY BIRTHDAY @IceCreamQueen135 AND @dibepicaliencoochie1!
Brad woke up on a bed of golden flowers. He rubbed his slightly aching head as he looked around at the unfamiliar landscape before him.
He was in some kind of dark room that was only lit up by the light coming down from the huge hole in the ceiling. Was he in some kind of cave? He tried to remember how he had gotten in this strange place.
His father had kicked him out of the house and forced him to leave his poor mother. Brad gritted his teeth and clenched his fists as he remembered his alcoholic father. His father would beat him while his mother tried stopping him, sobbing about how Brad didn't mean whatever he had said the moment before. Then, his father would turn on his mother, making sure that she would shut up and "learn her place". Just remembering it made Brad tremble with rage. His poor mother...
Brad took a deep breath and shoved the memories to the back of his mind. This wasn't the time to think about that. Now was the time to think about how he had gotten into this strange place.
After he left his home, Brad had ran away out of anger. At the time, he had wanted to run as far away as he could from the retched person called his father. He climbed a mountain called, what was it... Mount Ebott?
Anyways, all he remembered doing was scaling that mountain as quick as he could. Then he... wait, he tripped and fell?!? Brad quickly stood up, checking himself for any visible injuries. Once he confirmed that he wasn't hurt, Brad let out a sigh of relief.
"Where am I?" He muttered to himself. He let his eyes adjust to the darkness. That was when he noticed a path that led out of the room.
He grabbed a stick on the ground and walked on the path. He entered a doorway that looked too sophisticated to be completely natural. He already inferred that he wasn't in some normal cave.
He arrived in another room that had light shining on a patch of grass. He stared with wide-eyes at the small yellow flower that was growing in the grass. But that wasn't what had him surprised.
"Howdy!" The yellow flower spoke with a smile on its face. "I'm Flowey. Flowey the Flower!"
"Uh, hi?" Brad had no idea what to think about this situation. A flower with a face was talking to him. That definitely wasn't normal.
"Hmm... You're new to the underground, aren'tcha?" Flowey asked.
"Yeah..." Brad replied hesitantly.
"Golly, you must be so confused. Someone ought to teach you how things work around here! I guess little old me will have to do." Flowey said.
"Thanks?" Brad was extremely confused and was wondering if he hit his head too hard.
"Ready? Here we go!"
"What do you mean-" Brad cut himself off when he saw a red heart appear out of his chest. It wasn't in the shape of a human heart, but more like a cartoon heart.
"What the! What the heck is this!?!" Brad shouted.
"See that heart? That is your SOUL, the very culmination of your being!" Flowey said cheerfully.
"H-huh?! Wait, hold on a momen-"
"Your SOUL starts off weak, but it can grow strong if you gain a lot of LV." Flowey continued without letting Brad speak. "What's LV stand for? Why, LOVE, of course! You want some LOVE, don't you?"
"Er, I kinda just met you so-"
"Don't worry, I'll share some with you!" Flowey winked while sticking his tongue out. It was actually kind of cute. Maybe this flower wasn't so bad after all!
