It started raining as I stepped outside of the school. I rushed through the parking lot and entered my gray colored sedan that my parents gave me on my sixteenth birthday. I didn't start the car immediately, started reflecting what happened today during school. I stared into the windshield that is covered in raindrops, Jayson Grey. 'Jayson Grey' I said to myself. His eyes were the deepest blue, I lost in them and lost the whole conversation that him and I were talking about.
"Hey! Tim? You listening?" Jayson said snapping me back to reality.
"Ah, yeah" I said, "sorry I am just a little distracted right now." I couldn't help it to get lost in his eyes. His eyes were the most beautiful blue that you have ever seen. His face was just beyond cute. All I was thinking is to kiss Jayson in the middle of the hallway just before 6th hour.
"Are you going to come over later to finish that history project that is due tomorrow?" asked Jayson. I was still lost in thought when he said that. I nodded and he walked away to go to his last class of the day.
'How could I go over to Jayson's house and not get distracted?' I asked myself starting to car. I pulled out of the school parking lot and exit the school to get to my house where only my mother and my baby sister live.
When I was 12 years old, my father died in a firefighting accident. Ever since I have been really depressed. I was very close to him. He was my hero and the city's hero. About a week after his death, the city gave our family the medal of honor. Franklin Howard Wilkins, January 1985 to 2014. Everyday I miss him, in honor of him I workout and take life saving classes.
I pull into the driveway and was greeted by my five year old sister who was eating a grape popsicle.
"Hey, princess!" I greeted and picked her up. I carried her into the house and greeted my mother. "Hi, momma!"
"Hi, sweetie! How was school? Did you ask that boy out yet?" She greeted.
"Mom!" I said annoyed and put Mel down on the kitchen counter. "School was great and no I haven't asked him yet. I am going over to his place later to finish that history project." I came out to my mom a couple days after my sixteenth birthday. To my surprise she knew that I was gay. She didn't care that I was gay as long that I am happy for who I am. Ever since dad died, I have been close to my mom. I tell her everything including about Jayson Grey. She was really happy with how much I like him. My mom has always been there for me and I do the same for her. Everyday I tell my mom to go on dates, but always refuses. She told that my dad was to only man that she can ever love. She tells stories of my dad's heroism. I was always in awe of the stories. I want to be him one day and be a hero like he was.
"How about you ask Jayson to come over instead of you going over there?" my mom asked "I would love to this boy that you are so deeply in love with."
"Mom, you promise not to embarrass me?" I asked not wanting her to embarrass me in front Jayson.
"No promises!" saying while walking away with Mel in her arms.
I pull out my phone text Jayson.
Yo, do you wanna come over to my place instead. My mom is making her famous turkey burgers
Cool! I am omw over now! I will devour them birds! xD
I set my phone down and laughed so hard that I fell off the bar stool and nearly scared my mom half to death.
"Weirdo" I said laughing going up to my bedroom to change into shorts and a tank top.
After about fifteen minutes, the doorbell rang and I immediately ran to the door. As I opened the door, I saw a tall skinny boy standing in front of me. It was Jayson Grey at my front door. My heart started racing as I made eye contact with him.
"Hey, weirdo!" greeted Jayson. "You going to let me in?"
"Umm, yeah" I hesitating letting him in the house. "Momma! Jayson is here!"
I walked him to the kitchen where my mom was cooking her famous burgers. You can smell the delicious smell of meat cooking.
"Good evening, Mrs. Wilkins" Jayson greeted her. "It's great to meet you"
"Great to meet you too, Jayson." my mom said back. "Timothy, told me a lot about you". I groaned in my head and blush bright red. I couldn't hide my red face from the both of them.
"Really? He talks about me?" he said and looked at me with his irresistible blue eyes. I literally died at that moment.
"Yes! Of course he does!" she said trying to embarrass me. I wanting to hide in my chair as my mom brings the cooked patties and the wheat hamburger buns. "After you two are done eating you guys can use the living room to work on your history project"
"Thank you, Mrs. Wilkins" Jayson said as he grabs two buns and two patties. As we ate dinner, Jayson was looking at me like he is seeing a new me. It was a very different look than at school. I liked it.
After we finished eating, Jayson offered to help my mom with the dishes, but she told him don't worrying about it. I washed up in the restroom to calm my nerves before being alone with Jayson.
I saw Jayson playing with Mel. He was so cute seeing him play with my baby sister
"I see that you met Mel" I said entering the living room. "I'll put her with mom so we can focus"
"Okay, hurry back. I wanna finish before we get a zero for the semester" Jayson said. I picked Mel and handed her to mom. When I walked back to the living room, Jayson was already begin working on the project.
"So, all you have to do is to finish cutting out the photos for the poster" Jayson ordered. I hate that he doesn't let me do the hard work. I nodded and began cutting. "Have ever dated anyone in our grade or at school?"
I was surprised that he asked that question. Now that I think about it, I haven't dated anyone because I was always busy helping my mom with Mel and studying. "No, actually. I have never dated anyone ever." I said back.
"Wait seriously?" He said surprised "Why?"
"I work all the time and I help my mom with Mel" I said, "I never had time to date, plus girls are not really my type."
"Oh" he said sadl, "I kinda knew that you were gay, Tim"
"Who says that I am gay?" I said with my heart racing.
"Oh come on!" Jayson said, "I see the way you look at me. I'm not stupid. I know that you like me." My heart began racing out of my chest ready to burst out of me. Jayson stopped what he was doing and moved closer to me. Wait? He is gay too?
"Umm, when did you know?" I asked. He moved closer and closer to me. His shoulder touched mine. My heart was going to burst out of my chest.
"Today actally" he said grabbing my hand and holding it "I am gay and I like you too"
"Really?" I squeezed his hand back, "I didn't expect." Suddenly Jayson Grey kissed me and I kissed back. I can't believe that I kissed Jayson Grey, the blue eyed boy with the black and blue emo hair. He pulled away from my lips and looked at me with the brightest eyes. "I think we should finish the project before we can get to the kissing stuff" I said laughing with the brightest smile.
"Okay" he said back returning to work. For the rest of the evening, we talked and talked about the randomest things and laughed the whole time. My mom came into the room to shut us up because Mel was sleeping. She knew that I was happy spending time with Jayson.
Ever since dad died, I wasn't really happy until now. I was the happiest boy on earth. We got finished with the project and I agreed that I'll take to project to school the next day. It was already dark out which means Jayson has to go home. I walked him out to the front door.
"Tonight was great, Timothy" he said, I blushed so hard as he said my full name. He kissed me again expect this kiss was longer than the first. I pulled away to catch my breath. I gave him a hug.
"I'll see you tomorrow at school" I said as he walked out to his car. He waved bye and he was gone. I shut the front door and I slid down the door on my butt with my knees to my chest. I sighed with happiness.
My mom came down the stairs and saw me. "Well, I guess the date went well," she said. I blushed and got up to get undressed and sleep till the next day.
