A loud intake of air was the only thing that could bring Imogen Herondale out of the dreamworld. She stood, walking out of her room, her light feet pounded against the concrete floor as she made her way to the room next to her's, her eyes focused ahead to the tossing figure on the bed

"Wake up, darling" Imogen urgently sat on the edge of the bed, shaking an uncomfortably sleeping blonde girl's shoulder "You have to wake up. You're just dreaming"

"Oh, by the Angel" the blonde girl gasped awake, breathing heavily, sitting on her bed, doubling over slightly, wrapping an arm around her stomach

Imogen, concerned by the girl's well being, rubbed her back soothingly "What was it this time, darling?"

"We're in danger" The girl murmured, staring straightforward as if in a daze

Imogen eyed the girl carefully "From what?"

The girl passed a shaky hand through her messy hair, slowly looking back at Imogen "Our own"

Imogen didn't need anything else to understand what the girl meant "When?"

"The cup's still missing?" The girl informed, more a statement than a question. Imogen didn't answer, sighing. The girl cleared her throat "When Lydia's coming?"

"Tomorrow" Imogen answered. "And you should be resting. You two have a long journey in the morning"

The girl gave her a look, "Going through a portal isn't really a long journey and you know that"

Imogen sighed, "Is it a crime to be worried about my granddaughter?" A small smile played on the girl's lips, pursing them to hide it. Imogen sighed, pursing her lips "If it weren't for your bond, I wouldn't be letting you go, but you two-"

"Are good shadowhunters" The girl told her, smiling "That is your fault though"

Imogen chuckled, "I take full responsibility for that" She sighed, "Kasey. You know the New York Institute is-"

"Dangerous" Kasey finished, nodding. "Though I don't understand it. It's supposed to be protected by wards and all"

"You know why" Imogen told her, "Valentine Morgenstern is in New York"

Kasey looked away, a far away look in her eyes "Not only us shadowhunters are in danger. Also downworlders. He'll start a war if we don't stop him"

"Which is why you two are going there to make sure things go well" Imogen told her

Kasey stayed silent, though it seemed she wanted to say something, nodding "Okay"

Imogen stood, "Get some sleep now, would you?"

Kasey nodded, laying back on her bed, "Night"

Imogen walked away, seeming worried "Raziel, protect them. You may be the only one who knows they'll need it"

"We're gonna kick ass" Kasey Herondale announced, walking down the street, nearing a portal. A blonde girl walked by her side, smiling in amusement "I tell you Lydia. We're gonna show them how it's done"

Lydia Branwell chuckled, "Of course we are, Kace" She nudged her with her shoulder. "We will give everyone a nice first impression"

"Why?" Kasey asked, smiling

"Because we are badass" Lydia and Kasey answered at the same time, smiling at each other.

Imogen was waiting for them near the portal, clearing her throat "Ready girls?"

The portal opened in front of them.

Kasey and Lydia looked at each other, unlinking their arms, nodding at Imogen, seriously "Ready"

"Remember, you two are envoys for the Clave" Imogen told them, "You will report to me directly, alright?"

"Yes, ma'am" The girls nodded, hands behind their back.

Kasey's relationship with her grandmother was shoved to the back of her mind. This was the Inquisitor she was talking to. Not her family.

"Depending on what you report, we'll see how we manage things with the New York Institute" Imogen told them, "You get to respond only to me and no one else"

"Understood" The girls chorused, nodding

Imogen stepped aside, gesturing at them to go forward "Now, go do your job, may the Angel protect you"

The girls straightened their backs, looking at the portal.

Lydia smirked, looking at Kasey "After you, oh dramatic one"

Kasey pulled out her stele, smiling mischievously "Oh how well you know me"

Kasey stepped through the portal.

Before Lydia entered, Imogen called out to her "Lydia" Lydia turned to face her. Imogen looked serious "Protect each other. You know if Kasey gets another of her visions, she'll want to act first. You must get her to think throughly before she does something reckless"

"You don't need to ask me to look after her, Inquisitor" Lydia told her. She placed a hand in the side of her stomach, near her left hip. "I will protect her as well as I know she'll protect me"

Imogen nodded, relieved. "Farewell, Lydia Branwell"

Lydia nodded, walking through the portal.
