"Walkin' through a crowd,
the village is a glow
Kaleidoscope of heartbeats under coats
Everybody here wanted somethin' more
Searchin' for a sound we hadn't heard before"
-Welcome to New York, Taylor Swift

Mighty it was, a city so full of lights and charms, under the starry skies, under the magnificent universe.

New York, a city so full of mysteries rose up to be the shinning beacon to abnormal events.

"The Shadow Market? No, we are not going there under any circumstances. Not even when you have a knack for getting into trouble and breaking laws."

The blond boy smiled, playing around with his mobile phone while walking down the busy streets of New York City. Most girls who walked past him and his friend stopped to appreciate the beauty of the heaven above, and yet they walked past the creation of the angels without noticing. "If I want to get in trouble and break laws, I will get into trouble and break laws whether you like it or not."

The one with the oceans hidden behind his eyes groaned to the fact that his eyes sounded a lot like the classic fictions on the petty love story of a snarky sarcastic boy, like his friend, and a tiny fearless corgi, like his friend's girlfriend, "I am your parabatai. I am obliged to follow you wherever you go, and so are you."

"Come on, we won a war, Alec, we break laws and still be worshipped by all the younger Shadowhunters. Even Jia had to give up culturing me into the ways of the law." He said.

Alec Lightwood, the only one with common sense around the New York Institute stopped in front of Jace, his snarky friend with no perception to why actions always have consequences. "We're giving up patrol just for your amusement?"

"It's a lifestyle." Jace answered.

Annoyed by his parabatai and his casual flamboyance, sudden and unnecessary impulsive decisions leading to trouble, in addition to his absence of thoughts mostly surrounding on why most of his actions would be the reason of his unfortunate demise, Alec stepped away and let Jace have his daily dose of excitement involving the presence of Alec, too.

Having two Shadowhunters who shares the same singular braincell on making decisions and being logical walking the streets of New York with no central authority supervising their actions always ends with an explosion and several non-existing casualties.

They were like children in the bodies of adults, seeking for excitement to please their raging curiosity, with no knowledge of what was to come. Children, running around a place of horror, but they were too, children who were trained to witness the unseen horror of what was hidden in the shadows.

In the span of ten minuets, Jace had found himself a venue worthy for his almighty knack for dangerous events.

Ironic how Jace and Alec each had their share of horrors, and yet they knew the horrors better than they know themselves. Like brothers, they entered the darkness of a subway station under repair. A lot could happen there, and certainly, it would be excitement, or Alec would have a little trip all across Brooklyn, Manhattan, or even Long Island just for Jace's constant drive for his own amusement.

Jace had always loved the feeling of adrenaline coursing through his veins as sweat dripped onto his brows while facing the oncoming storm. If he could, he would change his middle name into 'Danger', but he supposed he quite liked his name. Jace Herondale. Middle name causes confusion and confusion leads to more confusion, therefore, he had chosen to be called Jace.

"Are you sure you're going to find something... Funky in here?" Alec asked.

Jace turned to his parabatai, while reaching for the witchlight stone in his pocket, "Are you missing Simon so much that you are starting to talk like him?"
