"I love you too."

Flv rapped his finger rhythmically against his desk, to the soft tick-tock of the clock. He sighed, he was filling out paperwork regarding the recent Ausia U-Lead, and even after multiple days, he hasn't been able to finish. The whole reason why he never wanted U-Leads was because all the things he had to fill out afterwards, about the recruits getting promotions, about the lag whilst picking the temporary leaders, setting the whole thing up with the CPR staff... it was so boring.

... he wasn't even Ausia...

He sat there frozen, pen in hand thinking about it. Then, all of a sudden, there was a loud knock on the door. Flv, now jerked out of his thoughts, stared at the door for a second. A second too long, because the door got pounded on again from whoever was on the other side. "Flv! What the hell are you doing in there? If someone knocks once, answer the goddamn door!" The voice of Cosmo yelled.

Flv was surprised. Usually Cosmo was very quiet. This was unlike him, so impatient. Flv got up from his chair, cracking his back before answering the door to a very angry Cosmo. The shorter male seemed taller than Flv, who was slouching in guilt. He stared at the purple embroidered badge on his green vest, proudly saying "Veteran". "Sorry sir. What do you need?" Flv said almost automatically. Veterans needed to be treated with respect, Flv knew that. Whether it was Waterbaby or BSchar, it didn't matter.

"There's an emergency, if you couldn't tell! Jesus, what's wrong with you?!" Cosmo screamed at him. "I was busy filling out the paperwork for your division." Flv blurted out. Cosmo narrowed his eyes. "What?" "It's nothing." Flv said quickly. "What's the emergency?" "I'll show you." Without warning, Cosmo took Flv's hand and led him away. "Wait, my paper-" "It can wait."

Flv looked around at the people around the base. SilverCat screamed in face of another cat, CatBallou, who was winning at Uno. DJCrystal painted unicorns for an ecstatic crowd. Kookie ran around hugging everyone. "Cosmo! What are you doing?" Liv yelled at Cosmo, causing them to jerk to a halt. "I need to show Flv something." Cosmo explained quickly. Liv looked down at the two's hands, clasped together. Liv seemed to understand. "Uh... okay. Have... fun, you two..."

Cosmo continued onwards, seeming unfazed by the awkward interaction. "What was that supposed to be?" "It's fine." Cosmo said, seeming focused on something else. Flv rolled his eyes.

Soon they were outside the camp, on snowy ground that doesn't even melt in the summer. Cosmo sat down and patted the spot next to him. Flv hesitated then sat. "So, what's the emergen-" "The emergency is my feelings!" "Jesus, you really got to stop-" "Shut up! Important moment." Cosmo interrupted again. "Look, I've been thinking about you more often than not, and... that's... weird." Cosmo, now back to his quiet self, chose his words carefully, looking away. "Look, I have feelings for you."

Silence.

"... like... romantically... or...?" "Yes!" Cosmo whipped around. "What else?" "Uh... I dunno, this is kinda out of nowhere." "... do you... not like me-" "Of course I do!" Flv insisted. Cosmo bit his lip. "... That out of pity or do you actually like me?" "I actually do." Flv promised.

"So... are we... are we like a thing now?" Cosmo asked. "Uh, yeah, I guess." "Sweet!" Cosmo hugged Flv. "I love you." Cosmo muttered.
