Sonic's POV

I ran through the forest, dodging the trees and bushes. I always go for a run in the forest. I sometimes pretend the trees are badniks and I'm trying to escape Egghead's base. I've been using my imagination a lot lately.

I slowed down as I came to the forest opening that lead to Station Square Park. I walked up to the nearest bench and sat down. There was an eerie silence that filled the park. Besides the small wind gust and the park animals, the park almost seemed abandoned. 'Something's going on. It's been like this for four days.' I stood up and started walking home, wondering what it was that I was missing. On my way out of the park, I decided to take a detour through the garden. There were tulips and dandelions everywhere. I looked around the garden to see any other flowers when my eyes caught a light pink flower.

I walked up to it and noticed it was a pink rose. 'Wow, a pink rose. Wait, pink..rose.' I replayed those words a few more times in my head before everything finally clicked.

"Amy! That's what was missing! Where is she?!" I immediately exited the garden and sprinted straight towards her house. 'I hope nothing bad happened to her.'

Amy's POV

I was laying on my couch watching tv when there was a loud knock on the door.

"Amy?! Amy are you there?" I stood up and sighed, walking to the door.

I opened the door and saw Sonic standing like he was about to have a heart attack

"Yes?" I showed no emotion. How could I? He ignored me too many times. If anything I'm surprised he's even here.

"Where have you been?" he gave me a worried look.

"Home." "Are you sick?" "No." "Well why haven't I seen you in the past four days?!" I glared at him. Should I tell him? Might as well.

"Because I'm tired Sonic!" I raised my voice, making him flinch.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"I mean I'm tired of chasing you around! I'm tired of the stood up dates! I'm tired of you running away from me!" My words hit him like a ton of bricks. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"I have wasted all my time following you. While I've been home I finally got through to the fact that you will never EVER feel the same way as I do! I'm not wasting anymore time trying to show you how I feel. I give up Sonic. I'm done chasing you. Now is there anything else that you need?"

I put my hand on my hip and leant against the door.

"A-Amy... y-you don't mean that do you?" His ears were folded completely back and I saw tears forming in his eyes.

I didn't want to show him mercy, but he looks so torn. I held down a lump in my throat.

"I..." he grabbed my hand and stepped closer to me.

"Please don't say it. Please don't give up Amy! The only reason I run is because I get nervous! Please Amy."

"I-I have to Sonic. I'm tired." I whispered. He gave out, tears streamed down his face as he pulled me into a hug. The lump in my throat grew and I choked back a sob.

"Amy please. I-I promise I won't run away. I promise I won't forget a-any other date! Please. J-just one more chance." He looked at me, tears still slowly streaming down his face.

Sonic's POV

I couldn't take it. I broke down in the crook of her neck. The first thing I thought was that she was sick, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I'm the whole reason she doesn't want to see me again. I promised her I would try!

I looked at her. She looked like she was about to break down.

"Amy please...just one more chance."

"Why? Why do you want one more chance?" "Because.. I-I do love you Amy. I want to show you how much I love you, but now y-you're pushing me away." Her eyes widened.

"Y-you love me? Why didn't you tell me?" "Because like I said I was nervous and you chasing me made me even more nervous. I felt awkward." her cheeks turned pink and a tear slipped down her muzzle. I wiped it off.

"But I've already ma-" "No. Not until I get one more chance. Please." I looked straight into her emerald eyes. I intertwined my fingers with hers and led her out the door.

"Where are we going?" she looked at me with a confused face?

"We're going to that restaurant that you wanted to try a while back."

"Why?" "Because this is my apology for everything." " Sonic, it's too expensive-" "I don't care I'm bringing you and that's final." She looked at me with a 'you can't be serious' face.

She sighed and stepped closer to me.

"One more chance Sonic." I picked her up bridal style, which made her gasp slightly. I kissed her cheek. "Thank you for not giving up on me." she nuzzled into the crook of my neck. "You're welcome." she whispered. And with that I took off with her to our date.
