Deals, change futures. They can make a person richer or poorer. Some deals are life-altering. The scariest deals end up changing the history of a country.

*************************************

It was a good forty years ago. King Sean Castell was on the throne still. He was obsessed with expanding the country of Luna. He brought war among our people. The country was divided into his followers and his opposers. But slowly as the war came to an end we had an economic boom. Luna became a spirited place once again. Yet there was still division amongst the people. A group called the King's Lances, who opposed King Castell's rule, formed. An ironic name don't you think?

On March 12 they planned an assassination. They wanted to put a bullet through the king's heart. It was the Day of Reformation, the most celebrated day in Luna. A way to draw attention to themselves, brilliant if you look at it.

Anyway, it was a perfect plot. They had calculated every possible outcome and variable. The only variable they didn't account for was my grandfather. underestimated the loyalty of the palace guard.

Loyalty within itself is interesting. You never know where it lies until the last moment. It's more interesting with my grandfather, because he was part of the King's Lances. That's the part, I never understood. I think he was working undercover for the king, but I'll never know.

Just as the sniper fired my grandfather jumped in front and used his body as a shield for the king. He betrayed his pledge. I'm not sure if it was to gain the king's favor or something else.

Because of his decision, I am in the situation I am now.
