Chapter 37 ● They won't get hurt ○

The three of them drive close to the place where they are supposed to meet the letter sender. The journey there is really quiet the only noises heard was the car noises and the radio playing. Uncertainty filling the air around them. Finally they reach the location after walking for a little while.

"They're here Daph" Cade whispers to her. "Hello, this is Cade and I'm Daphne, it's nice to meet you" she greets them and introduces Cade and herself. "Look we really don't care" Luke replies. "So why are you here?" Cade asks. "Because we need to know what you are capable of" Michael replies. "Oh we'll show you exactly what we're capable of" Daphne responds a smirk plastered on her face.

"They're still not back yet" Calum tells Darren in a worried tone. "That isn't a good sign" he replies through his thoughts. "What do I do?" He questions still worried. "You wait for them for a bit more and if they don't show up after a while plan something" he answers him. "Alright thanks" he replies.

Cade pushes the three of them towards a tree nearby. "What was that for?" Michael asks. "Nothing, just for fun" he replies to him. Daphne then starts using her magic to add to the attack Cade directed to them. She casts a few spells on them. One spell so they are temporarily paralysed and can't move from the place they were pushed in. Another spell makes knives float up centimetres away from their necks so she could move them closer if need be. "We should have taken Valley's warnings more seriously" Luke whispers to Ashton and Michael. "That's true" Michael replies whispering back to him. "You guys are such creeps!" Ashton shouts to them. "Shut up or that knife gets stuck in your neck" she replies.

"Darren, do you have any idea where they could be?" Calum asks him still worried. "I'm not really sure I'll try to get it out of Cade or Daph" He replies to him. I can't let anything horrible happen to any of them. I hope they're okay. Should I call them? I was waiting for them to call me but I don't think they're gonna Calum thinks to himself.

Ashton's phone rings but he can't get at it. Daphne takes the phone instead. She magically answers it and puts it on speaker. "Hello Calum I was just about to call you to invite you to the party" she tells him. "Noo Cal whatever you do don't come here don't listen to her" Ashton shouts. "I thought I told you to shut up or else" she tells Ashton. "Daphne, where are they? Why are you doing this? Don't hurt them!" Calum replies with questions. "You know where my house is right?" She asks him. "Yeah I do" he replies. "We're in the forest nearby. To get you here. They're not hurt yet but they could be." She answers his previously asked questions. "Fine I'll be there" he replies.

"Just letting you know I know where they are and I'm gonna make sure they make it out of this mess unharmed" Calum tells Darren. "Are you seriously gonna go?" He asks him through his thoughts. "Yeah I am" he replies. "Are you out of your mind?" He responds a question back. "No, I need to help them. I feel responsible for this whole situation and they're my best friends" he answers. "Fine, do whatever, just don't do anything silly" he replies. "What makes you think I'm gonna do something silly?" He questions. "I've known these people for ages and I know exactly what they're like and I know enough about you to know you'd do anything to protect them and prioritise their safety over your own" he answers. "I'll be fine, you don't need to be concerned about me" he replies.

Calum gets ready and goes out to the said location. "Took you long enough" Daphne tells Calum. "Hi to you too Daphne" he greets her in an irritated tone. "Someone's in a bad mood" she replies. "Where are my friends?" He questions still irritated. "Follow me" she answers him as she leads the way he trails behind her.

He's so dumb sometimes... I'm just gonna let Cade and Daphne do whatever they want now. I'm done with coming to his rescue. I know they won't let him die. They don't want the games to be over yet. I can tell that they're actually having fun playing them. Darren thinks to himself.
