Chisato asked me to help her to get a dream… Well, how am I supposed to know? It's her life. I do have a huge crush on her, and now it's pretty obvious.
Chisato and I decided to take a walk after school, under the night sky. It was to set the mood. I know Chisato is a very finicky girl, and I want her to not get snappy at me. I had kind of a plan. Let's see if I can pull it off.

"(Y/N-san), why did you take me here? It's a beautiful night sky… but why?"

"Chisato," I started. "Look up at the stars. What do you see?"
She looked up. Her eyes reflected the glow of the stars. She was beautiful.

"I see the stars. Why?"

"How many stars can you count?"
I asked.

She laughed a bit.
"You're funny… I couldn't possibly count so many."

"Pretend you're that star…" I pointed to a particularly bright star. "All around you are stars like you. Some are brighter…"

"And?" Chisato asked.

"And… I want you to shine bright."
I looked straight into her eyes. The same ones that looked at me back.
Her face had a somber look, one of someone who had the potential to shine brighter.

"What does this have to do with dreams?" she asked.

"All stars dream of shining bright. If they do shine bright, they can be even brighter. Even they have dreams."
She shook her head.

"Stars can't dream."

"No… You are a star. How are your performances with Pastel*Palettes? Do you want to get better?" I asked.

"Yes. But… you need talent to improve. A talentless person cannot dream and hope to get by." Chisato still stood by her point.

I'm not letting up, either.

"I'm not able to dream… I just can't…" Chisato turned away. "I don't know why we're here. You're no help."

She began to walk away.
"Just forget it."

"No, Chisato--" I couldn't stop her.

Our stargazing trip wielded no result. I thought for sure that'd get her to realize her dream. But I'm not done yet. I walked all the way back home. There was only one person I could ask for help any time of day.
Kanon-chan. I called her.

"Kanon-chan!! I need some help..." I shouted through the phone.

"Oww, loud… what's the problem?" she asked.

"Do you have a dream?" I asked. "If so, what?"

"A dream? Is this about Chisato? She made things hard for you tonight, huh?"
Once again, Kanon-chan read the situation quite easily.

"Yeah, she kinda walked away from me. She can't dream, according to her…" I replied.

"My dream is…" Kanon-chan said. "...is to be close to you and my bandmates…"

"Aww, Kanon-chan. You're so nice. Hello, Happy World must be lucky."

Wait, Kanon-chan's dream… is to be close to everyone... Simple, yet...
I can't make Chisato get a dream, but maybe…

"Okay," I told Kanon-chan. "What if Chisato's dream is…"

"Huh?" was Kanon-chan's reaction.

"That's pretty smart. So when will you tell her?"

"Tomorrow! Chisato is a busy girl, but maybe she can make time for me tomorrow. Same place! Thanks, Kanon-chan!"

With that, I hung the phone up and crashed on my bed. This will surely work! I did think about it for a second. I'm doing this all for Chisato.

The next day, I eagerly rose from bed and called Chisato, hoping she'd pick up.
"Yes?" she said on the other line.

"Chisato! Please meet me tonight at the same place under the stars!"
I told her.

"H-huh? But I told you, it can't work."

"It will. Please. I want to see you smile."
I said.

"I think I can make it…" Chisato told me.

That night, I awaited Chisato at the desired location. I became nervous that she wouldn't show, but I began to reassure myself.
"If she didn't want to come, she'd tell me. She's honest in that regard."

Then I began to contemplate what I'd say to her. I took a breath. Enough worrying.

Then, in the distance, I saw her coming. Chisato. I felt butterflies in my stomach. Either it was the nervousness, or I just really like Chisato.
She stood right in front of me. It was kind of an awkward staring game for a bit.
Finally, I said, "The moon is bright tonight, huh?"

She just nodded slowly.

I decided to just get right to it.

"Let me ask again, what is your dream?"
Chisato looked at me with those same somber eyes. It was unlike any side of her I've seen before.

"I don't have a dream."

"Exactly," I said. "You don't have a dream. So, can you say that your dream… is to have a dream?"

Her face showed confusion.
"What?"

"It was clear since the beginning… Don't you want a dream? You told me that. That's your dream!"

"No," Chisato responded. "It can't be that easy."

"It is. Now let me see you smile!"
I said.

Chisato stared at me a bit, then broke out laughing. It was a genuine laugh, and she looked honestly cute.
"Sorry, it's just… Everything got so serious there… Thank you."

Chisato went in for a hug. I gave her one right back.

"Ahh," I thought. "I did it. Now what?"
Actually, I know what.

"Um, Chisato? I said.

"Oh, you can call me Chi-chan," she told me, blushing.

What?! Did she really say that? According to Kanon-chan, only Kaoru called her that! Does that mean… she likes me? Or am I reading the situation too far?

"Chi-chan… I really like you," I said, using every ounce of my strength there.

"You know," she said. "At first, I thought you were weird. When we first met at the meet-and-greet, I mean.
But… when we sat at the courtyard at school during lunch and told me about dreams… I saw that you were very honest."

She looked right into my eyes again, but this time… her eyes seemed to shine with passion. This time, she reached out and grabbed my hands. I was surprised.

Then, in a quiet voice, she told me,
"I have a crush on you, too...
But Pastel*Palettes comes first."
