Infinity War (Charlotte Stark)

Ch. 1 He's Coming

"This is the Asgardian refugee vessel Statesman! We are under assault, I repeat, we are under assault – The engines are dead, life support failing! Requesting aid from any vessel within range...We are 22 jump points out of Asgard. Our crew is made up of Asgardian families, we have very few soldiers here! This is not a war craft, I repeat, this is not a war craft!"

An Asgardian sends a message to anyone close enough to hear it. We just fought Hela, and now we are forced to fight this Mad Titan, Thanos. He boards our ship, and takes half of the Asgardians out. Now we lay on the ground, weak, wounded, or dead.

Ebony Maw walks among the bodies of dead Asgardians. He steps over them as he speaks with no mind, as if they were scattered pieces of dirty clothing on a bedroom floor. "Hear me, and rejoice. You have had the privilege of being saved by the Great Titan. You may think this is suffering. No...It is salvation. Universal scales tip toward balance because of your sacrifice. Smile...For even in death, you have become Children of Thanos."

I lay near Heimdall, he is wounded, but still alive. I have my own wounds, a large slash through my leg and a stab wound through my shoulder. Loki stands with the Black Order, watching Thanos.

Looking out the large window of the ship, Thanos starts to speak. "I know what it's like to lose. To feel so desperately that you're right... yet to fail, nonetheless." He grabs Thor by the head, dragging him along as he walks. "It's frightening. Turns the legs to jelly. I ask you, to what end? Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now, it's here. Or should I say...I AM."

Thanos holds up his hand to reveal the Infinity Gauntlet, which already hosts the Power Stone.

"You talk too much." I pant out. Loki and Thor both give me looks and shake there heads, telling me to shut up before I get myself killed.

"The Tesseract, or your brother's head. I assume you have a preference." Thanos asks Loki.

"Oh, I do. Kill away!"

Thanos sets the gauntlet on Thor's temple. The power stone glows brightly. Thor suffers in pain.

Loki, cringing and looking away from his brother's pain and thinks for a few seconds. "ALRIGHT, STOP!"

"We don't have the Tesseract. It was destroyed on Asgard." Thor chokes out.

Loki glances at Thor and I like he knows something we don't. He lifts his right hand into the air and the Tesseract reveals itself.

"You son of a bitch." I huff out in pain.

"You really are the worst, brother."

While holding the Tesseract out to Thanos and advancing forward, Loki says "I assure you, both of you," He looks between Thor and I. "The Sun will shine on us again.

"Your optimism is misplaced, Asgardian." Thanos states.

"Well, for one thing: I'm not Asgardian. And for another... We have a Hulk."

Loki dives out of the way as Hulk emerges and fights Thanos. Punches are exchanged and Thanos is forced into the wall of the ship. Maw stops Black Dwarf from interfering.

"Let him have his fun."

Thanos defeats Hulk and dumps him to the ground, next to me. Thor tries to interfere but Ebony Maw binds him to the ground. I slowly, make my way to Hulk. 

"Hey, buddy, you okay?" I say, lightly slapping his face, but he doesn't wake up. Then I hear Heimdall behind me.

"Allfathers... let the dark magic flow through me one last... time."

He summons the Bifrost, which carries Hulk and I away. I hold on tightly, not knowing where we are about to land. Hulk then wakes up, confused. Then we come crashing down in a familiar building.

I look up and see Dr. Strange standing above us. Hulk turns back into Bruce Banner. "Thanos is coming, he's coming." He pants out.

Strange looks down on us, confused. "Who?" He helps Banner and I up, helping me patch my wounds and giving Banner and I extra clothes. My suit is completely busted, so I now reside in a pair of leggings and a black tank top.

"He's a Mad Titan. He seeks out the Infinity Stones. He plans to kill off half the universe." I try to explain to him and his friend.

"So this, Thanos, how many infinity stones does he have now?" Strange asks me.

"Two. Power and Space."

"What do we do?" The other wizard asks me.

"I need to speak with my brother."
