Ch. 8 Bring Me Thanos

I fly into the air, shooting beams in every direction, slicing multiple aliens in half at a time.

"How much longer, Shuri?" Tchalla asks over the comms.

"We've barely begun, brother."

"You might want to pick up the pace." I chime in and continue firing at every alien I see. I look down and see Nat bombarded with the enemy. I fly down to land next to her.

"Need some help." I say, firing at the Outriders around us.

"That would be greatly appreciated." She responds and I start throwing punches and kicks in every direction. But soon enough, they over power me and I'm on the ground, curled up in a ball. Claws and teeth are scratching at me, biting at me. And I see no end in sight. This might be it.

Then I look up. I see the Bifrost emerge from the sky and I can't help but smile. I thought Thor was dead, but I guess I was wrong. His new weapon shoots out, knocking off all of the Outriders on us all. He appears with a small raccoon holding up blasters and a tree being.

"Oh, you guys are so screwed now!" Bruce yells. Then Thor starts to charge forward.

"Bring me Thanos!" He leaps into the air, with what looks to be a new axe. When he comes crashing down, it kills multiple aliens. I fly up and observe my surroundings.

I land next to Steve, seeing he needs some help.

"I thought you said Thor was dead?" He asks me.

"Yeah, well, when I was brought back, it wasn't looking good for him." I say as I fly off and continue to fight off the aliens.

I land on the ground near a bunch of them, fire my repulsors, and just turn around in a circle, burning them all to a crisp. Thor then lands next to me and greets me with a warm smile.

"Charlie." He says.

"Thor." I greet him back. "I thought you were dead."

"I thought I was too." He says, swinging the axe and killing the Outriders around us. "Oh, this is a friend of mine, Tree."

He points to the wooden creature, who has a grown arm through several Outriders. Hoisting them up in the air he turns to us. "I am Groot!"

"I am Charlotte Stark." I say, pointing to myself. Then I turn back to Thor. "New weapon?"

"Ah, yes. Stormbreaker. A formidable weapon." He spins it around in his hand a few times.

"Is it the Thanos killing kind?" I ask.

"Precisely." And then lunges forward to fight more beasts.

Then the ground begins to shake. I blast the last Outrider in my area and fly up to the sky to try and see what's going on. Emerging from the tree line are bumps in the ground, moving towards the battlefield. As they approach the barrier, it goes under it and then pops up once it clears it. And what I see before us is nothing good.

"Can't we catch a break?" I huff out as I look into the sky. There are large rolling disks driving themselves all over the battlefield. They each have sharp blades on the end of them, destroying everything in its path.

I start to fire all around them, slowly destroying one at a time. But as soon as I do, more seem to come our way.

"Focus your fire on that left flank, Sam." I tell him as we fly around one of them.

"I'm doing it." He replies back. Then I look to the ground and see Nat almost get killed by one of them. But Wanda lands in front of her, using her powers to lift three of them up, and throw them out, killing more aliens.

"Why was she up there all this time?" Okoye asks.

But I look back over to the palace and see Vision fighting Corvus, "Those sneaky bastards." I mutter to myself. Then look to Wanda. "We have a Vision situation."

"Somebody get to Vision!" Steve calls out, hearing me through the comms.

"I got him!" Bruce says.

"On my way." Wanda turns to take off, but she's hit across the face by Proxima.

"He will die alone, as will you."

I land down next to her. "She's not alone." Nat and Okoye gather around us too. I pull out the vibranium sword and start to swing it towards Proxima.

She blocks my attack and kicks me back. Then Okoye makes her move. Stabbing her spear at the alien, Proxima grabs a hold of it and throws her away with ease. Nat steps up and gets a few good punches in, but in the end, she's thrown out too.

I get up and fly into her. I land on the ground, on top of her, but she quickly changed our positions so that she's on top of me, with her weapon against my throat. I cough in hopes to get some air into my lungs.

"I should have killed you from the start." She says to me, pushing her weapon further into my throat. I start to see black dots in my vision as my circulation is being cut off. But before I black out, a red energy surrounds Proxima, lifting her up and throwing her into one of the large disks. I break out into a coughing fit, trying to get air circulating through my body. Her blood gushes out, some of it landing on me.

I look over to see Wanda, panting. "Thanks." I choke out. I cough a few more times, but after I finally catch my breath, I say, "That was really gross."

Then I hear Cap through our comms. "Everyone on my position. We have incoming."

I fly up, zooming towards Steve and Vision. Landing next to him, I see a dark portal open up next to one of the trees. And out steps Thanos.
