jeyjeys pov
i hopped out of my car, grabbing the small box of random stuff from the passenger seat and my suitcase full of clothes from the trunk.
walking down the large pathway, i texted my mom, letting her know i made it here safe. i hated being away from her, but when you get an offer to go to a great college, you accept it, even if it means traveling 5 hours away from your home.
i pass through the office, asking them where my dorm is and they point me towards the west wing. the building was huge, so i just prayed to myself that i could find it.
i walked through the inding hallways, the numbers on each door slowly getting closer to the number i was looking for.
"78!" i called out, slipping the key from my pocket and sliding it in the lock.
i open the door quietly, and hauled my stuff in. i dropped it all off in a random corner and hoped on one of the two beds.
i layer down, my eyes exploring the new place. it looked a lot like a hotel room, but maybe an older one. it just wasn't as modern, or as big, but it was still roomie.
i turned to my side and stared at the wall, head empty. i was trying to sleep, but there was just something bothering me and i couldn't find the peace to. the room was eerily quiet, until i hear footsteps approaching the door, thin walls i assume.
i hear a key slip in the lock and the door creaks open. i turn to see who the new person is and a boy, presumably my age slips through, carrying a few things in his hands, including his luggage.
when he notices me, he shoots me a kind smile.
"hey," he says, in a much deeper than expected voice, to be honest i was taken aback a bit.
"hi. i'm jeyjey."
"jeyjey, nice to meet you. i'm benji."
'benji. that name sounds familiar.' i think to myself. 'but it's probably just nothing.'
i nod in response and sit up on my bed, him taking a seat on his own.
"so, jeyjey. where are you from?"
"from here. well from the same state, just 5 hours away."
"oh so you're a washington boy? i'm from spain, came here on a scholarship."
"i used to live in spain. i moves when i was like 9."
"wait really? that's awesome. i miss home already, i honestly don't know how i'm gonna last here."
"same. and my home is still pretty close."
we continued to talk for hours, it was really nice if i'm being honest. it was nice making a friend so easily, and it was nice having that friend to share a dorm with, i was nervous that my roommate was gonna be a total douchebag, but it looks like i got lucky.
