I yawn rather loudly as the morning sun from the bare window shone on me, making me warm. I stretch out and smile as I opened my eyes and place my feet on the cool wooden floor. I shiver as I quickly grab my white fuzzy bunny slippers out of the drawer and slide them upon my feet.

I pick my phone up from my nightstand next to my king sized bed and sluggishly walk over to the bathroom connected to my room, and glance in the mirror.

I wasn't ugly, exactly. No, ugly is a very strong word. But I certainly was not pretty. Oh, no. I'd never classify myself as pretty, I thought.

I had dirty blonde hair with natural auburn highlights and dark brown lowlights. I had hazel eyes that went green after I'd spent a little bit of time in water. Like after a swim, or after I got out of the steamy showers that I take.

I sigh as I use the washroom and wash my hands before I exit the bathroom to get dressed.

A lot of people have a signature 'style'. But I, I would not say that I have a style.

I mean, you see, I am an athletic girl, a tomboy, you might say. I'm not one of those fluffed-up-over-dressed-photogenic tumblr girls.

My style consists of jeans, preferably ripped, a tee shirt or sweatshirt, and sneakers. Shorts and tank tops and jerseys are for the gym.

I slip out of my bunny slippers and pjs and pull on a 5 seconds of summer tee shirt and ripped skinny jeans (that were not laying on the floor). I slip some socks and and take one last glance in the mirror before running a comb through my hair and putting it in a loose fish tail.

I place my phone is my back pocket as I exit my lime green bedroom.

As soon as I walk through the door that separates my room and the rest of the house, I am attacked by three loveable creatures.

My four year old golden retriever, Buddy, and my two little twelve week old munchkin kittens, Ginger and Amy.

Buddy was my dog, and the kittens are family pets.

I sit down on the floor and scratch behind his ears.

"Good morning, Bud. Did you sleep good last night? Wanna go for a walk?" I ask him as I scratch behind his ears with one hand, the other rubbing his back.

Bud barks, telling me that yes he would.

"Okay then, boy. Let me go grab your leash, my sneakers, and and orange," I tell him as I run down the stairs, him following after me.

As soon as I grab the leash my mom pulls it away from me.

"What?" I ask her.

"Buds already been out for a run, three, actually. I walked him, your father walked him, and your brother walked him. So there's no need for him to go again," she told me.

I sigh and looked over at Bud.

"Sorry, Buddy. The boss is shutting it down," I tell him.

He puts his head down and whines, and slowly walks off into the living room, taking longing looks back at the door.

"Hey, Kris," my brother Liam calls over to me as he runs down the stairs. "You going for a run?"

I picked up an orange and looked back at him. "Yeah, after I eat this, I'll go for a jog."

"Cool," he nodded and sat on the couch, Bud soon jumping up beside him.

Bud hates mom, and mom hates him. But he loves Liam.

I quickly eat the orange and rin upstairs to change into shorts and grab my bag, which consisted of a bottle, my book, and a blanket. I fill the water bottle up and drop my phone in the bag (it's a small backpack).
