I just couldn't do it anymore ;it felt as if I was starting to gradually lose my mind.I'd gone over algebraic equations all night,paging through each section in the textbook; solving each equation and answering each question at least 3 times.[don't get me wrong.. Math was one of my favourite subjects. Just that when it came to preparing for the final exams ,one could never be fully prepared].
'Tick-tock..tick-tock..tick-tock'..came the repetitive sound from the run down clock on the wall ahead of me.In an attempt to keep awake I'd decided to lay upsidedown on the single bed with my head hanging and socked cold feet strapped across the bed dangling from the other side ,just staring at the second hand doing its rounds ,for the past hour or two.That night I did everything I could to stay awake and focused:opening the window to keep the room cool but ended up freezing, jumping around before some yoga(the fancy kind that they did on TV)..also ,drinking water kept me cool .except that didn't help much because I had to tiptoe out to the toilet after every 10 minutes.
Tina was starting to toss and turn, clear indication that he 'had to go'
Yep,the dude needed his early morning toilet break,my cue..
That was basically how my every day had been for as long as I could remember.
"Tina...Tina... Come on ..get up.we have to get ready for school.Tina!", I whispered into his ear ever so gently. He just heaved in a breath and tugged tighter onto the fleece blanket tangled at his ankles .I'm really not in the mood for this right now,rubbing my eyelids weighing up in my head when I last had a full nights sleep .My eyes were tired ,I could feel it.my eyelids were weak.If there ever was going to be a day where I would fall asleep during a lesson, it would've had to be that day.it can't be something alittle coffee can't fix,I tried to convince myself.Besides that,I had absolutely no doubt in myself having to rock up and have the most amazing day EVER.But first I had to deal with the issue at hand..." Mhaa,Tinashe doesn't want to get up!"..calling out to my mother ,who so happens to NOT be a morning person, did the trick...
Books?.check.. Lunch..blazer?.. And tie?..check,check,... and check!
