No one knew. They did at one point, but they thought they beat it. Not even Zane knew. He soon found out.
Soon everyone will find out.
The smell of a fresh fry up breakfast wafted through the halls of the monastery as Zane was cooking for the other residents. As per usual the first one up at the smell of food was Cole. Zane smiled at the ninja and waved, cole approaching and peering over his shoulder.
"Watcha cookin'?" He asked lazily, eyeing down the pan of sizzling bacon with hungry eyes. Zane laughed.
"Suprised you can't tell with your face amongst the bacon." He said sarcastically. Cole huffed a laugh and went to get washed and dressed, knowing it'd be while till the delicious strips of pork where done. Kai highfived him as he passed, shoving his hands in his hoodie pockets and sitting on the counter.
"Up early as usual, huh tincan?" He greeted, taking an orange from the nearby fruitbasket. Zane rolled his eyes.
"Yes. Also off the counter." He said with a smirk, not taking his eyes of the meat. Kai huffed and pushed himself off, throwing the orange peel in the trash from across the room. He pumped his fist happily, and ate a slice of the fruit.
"Alright Zane, call me when the foods done." He waved lazily as he walked back to his room.
"As usual." Zane laughed cheekily. He smiled, today had a good and calm start. Good was good, and so was calm. He took a breath, though he really couldn't. The sounds felt alive. The soft sizzle of the bacon, the water running from the shower, even the soft breeze outside. Zane smiled. Life was goo-
"ZANE!!" Jay smiled happily, bouncing into the kitchen. Zane almost threw the pan at him, getting quite the fright. The boy didn't seem to notice this, as he smiled widely at the nindroid, still clung to his shoulders.
"Good morning jay." Zane smiled, adjusting himself. Jay, still smiling, climbed off Zane and was the third person to peer over his shoulder to see the food.
"Oooo!! When are they ready?" Jay bounced happily.
"In a good minute, go get a housecoat on." Jay huffed and rolled his eyes. Nya ruffled his hair as she walked in.
"Keep rolling your eyes maybe you'll find a brain!" She laughed, winking at him. Jay huffed as a heavy blush creeped across his face, and he went to go get a housecoat like Zane asked.
"Hyper as ever, eh?" Nya mused, turning on the kettle. Zane nodded with a laugh. The kitchen was silent for another few moments, nya fetching milk and Zane beginning to dish out the food.
"So hows ovie?"
