It took about a day and a half for Haley to reply to my email. She decided to start today so I set up a time to meet her and we'll see how it goes from there.

I wanted Nick to be there with me to meet Haley but he was working late. I decided to make some dinner and we would talk over dinner.

Around 6 o'clock, I went in the shower to get ready for Haley coming at 7. Mid-shampoo, I heard a loud noise downstairs. I turned the shower head off and opened the shower curtain.

"Nick? Is that you?"

I heard no answer.

I got out of the shower and put on my bathrobe. I opened the door and as I walked out of my room I noticed that my necklace that Nick gave me for our 5 year anniversary was missing. I grabbed a baseball bat from the closet and headed downstairs.

It felt different as I walked down the stairs. Maybe it was because I was in a bathrobe.

I walked toward the kitchen and nothing looked out of place. I walked around the entire house and no one was there and everything was where it had belonged. It didn't look as if anyone stole or robbed me.

As I walked back upstairs, I heard Chloe crying.

I opened Chloe's room door and what I saw had surprised me. A young girl, looked as if she was in high school, was standing there with Chloe in her arms.

"Oh, hi!" She said.

"Um.... Who are you and please give Chloe back to me, I will give you anything you want just please don't hurt her."

"Oh, no. My name is Haley, we have an

appointment at 7 remember?"

"Haley? Why did you enter my house when I wasn't here? Wait, how did you even get it here?"

"The door was open and I called your name and no one answered so I thought something had happened. I heard Chloe crying and I thought that something really bad happened so I came in here to make her feel better."

"Oh, well I'm sorry to have worried you and I'm glad your here now. Just let me finish rinsing out my hair and I will meet you downstairs. There's plenty of food and drinks too, make yourself comfortable!"

"Ok, thanks. "

I turned around and before I walked out the door and I turned back around and said, "Nice to meet you Haley, I'm Maggie!"

Before I turned to leave, I saw that Haley had a necklace on. A necklace that looked pretty similar to the one Nick gave me. I did find some holes in her story but I didn't say anything. If Chloe was crying, I would have heard her and I never, ever, ever leave the door unlocked.

I walked out the door and back to the bathroom.
