Chapter One
"Holy shit!" Seriously are you kidding me.I mean honestly. I just fell asleep. How does this society go to sleep at night knowing that they're making poor, innocent youth wake up before the friggin sunrise! To receive an education in which all of them could quite frankly receive it at any other time of the day.
It's always the same old crap. Wake up at friggin 5:30 in the morning. Throw alarm clock half way across the room. Proceed to get out of bed while cursing in 12 different languages. Brush my stinky ass mouth. Hop into the shower. Get dressed. Half eat breakfast while attempting to finish last nights homework and yelling at my brother. Damn! Now that I realize it, I should get an award for putting up with this shit. I mean man...look how hard my life is. I know, I know, there's always someone that's in a worse situation than you. Neenerneenerneener. You know what I say to that....I totally understand. Hahaha! No I don't understand because I'm not in that situation sorry to burst your bubble.
"Hey pap's whats up?" My dad was sitting at the kitchen island when I walked into the kitchen.
"Oh nothing much, just reading the paper. But what's up my dear is that you're down early."
"Ahaha dad whatever. I have you know I am capable of doing that once in awhile."
"Ohhhh yeah, once in awhile. Whateverrrrr." My father just imitated me in a girly high pitched voice, really dad, really? Sometimes I honestly wonder how old this man is. But then again that's why he's also my best bud.
"Oh dad so....can I get some lunch money? Purdey please" I asked cutely. As I leaned on the island across from him.
"Me? What do you think I am Father Christmas?" He grunted and made a gesture of looking at me crazily.
"Nah man. But your belly's getting pretty close." This statement was of course a joke because my dad was actually pretty fit. He's like an exercise freak. After all he has to stay fit considering he's a cop.
"What!" With that my dad threw a twenty at my head and jokingly scolded me out of the house. I picked up the bill and ran to the front door satchel in hand and almost collided with ma mere.
"Hey Ma! Back already?"
"Yeah. Beatrice let me off early. You need a ride to school?" My mom was a nurse at the local hospital. And Beatrice was her really nice supervisor. She gave me grey low cut chucks two Christmases ago. She's so tight we call her aunt B.
"Nah...I think I'll take the bus today."
"Okay have a good day then."
"Alright Ma, peace!" With that I swung open the door and gave her a quick salute.
"Hey! What about my kiss?" She looked at me like a toddler.
I laughed a bit, "oh right, almost forgot" I gave my mom a quick peck on the cheeks and bounded down the front steps.
"Belle tenue ma cherie" she said giving me a wink.
"Merci" I replied. Then I was off.
"Izzy wait you forgot your board!"
Dammit how'd I forget my baby Emi. I doubled back and grabbed my Platypus longboard. I dropped it to the ground and hopped on and pushed off the road. I patted down my jean pocket to make sure i had my bus ticket. Then eloquently retrieved my Samsung Galaxy S4 from my bag and put in my earphones and played Willy Moon's "Yeah, yeah" and sang along. I pushed of the ground harder. I was not about to miss that bus.
I cruised into the school parking lot littered with unassuming beings. I mean seriously why put us through this. we have to attend this facility five times a week for six hours each day, and they didn't have the decency to at least not fill it with collective asses out to destroy others lives. I'm pretty sure my Charter Rights give me the right to life and liberty so why is it that I'm still forced to attend this hell where all I want to do is end my life. I'm pretty sure people are legally not allowed to distress a person to this point. Well, if I can't get a conviction out of this I'm still pretty sure I can use the Human Rights Code against their asses. Sue them under the occupancy of a poisoned environment in which I'd probably win a whole lotta mula and potentially have enough money to leave this hell hole, never to return again. My plan sounds good. And every bit attainable. I stopped Emi and stepped off and picked her up us I approached the front of my very large high school. Approximately three thousand students attended Hedsor High. And I Isabel Belcourt was one of the three thousand. Hmmm, I like that...one of the three thousand. Has a nice ring to it like a book title or even better...an epic movie! Now that's what I'm talking about. I can already see it. My name in lights. Sutton Belcourt's "One of the Thousands" making it's debut at the TIFF.
