Elinor POV.
*knock knock knock* I set my tea cup on the coffee table and marked my book before scurrying to answer the front door and seeing my father do the same. I opened the door to see two well dressed men much taller than me, one stood calmly and relaxed and had a pleasant smile on his aged face the crows feet around his eyes being very prominent and his hair had greyed with time leaving only a few streaks of faded black. The other much younger man stood confidently but he looked quite annoyed as if being here was nothing but a nuisance to him. I felt my father pull me to the side as I was pulled out of my thoughts, he welcomed the visitors into our home and sat us all down in the sitting room. I stood in front of them for a moment before asking "Pardon, Would you men like a drink? Tea,coffee...whiskey?" I oldest man looked very pleased and gave a warm smile before answering "Glass of whiskey if you mind." I nodded before looking towards younger man, whom only stared, his cold crystal blues sending a shiver down my spine "Coffee,black" he finally replied, I just assumed my father also wanted a glass of whiskey so I walked into the kitchen grabbed two glasses and a mug. It was a few minutes before I returned holding all refreshments and handing them around receiving a thanks from my father and our older guest. I was about to leave before my father requested that I stay. I wasn't paying too much attention to the conversation until the the aged man and my father shook hands "Then its settled, my son will marry your daughter within the month!" I looked to my father with wide eyes and he turned to me "Eli, how does that sound?" My father had a warm smile and although I wanted to refuse and complain, I didn't. So I smiled as best as I could and nodded in approval
"That sounds.... lovely"
