Chapter Five

Jax and I sat on one of the couches and a girl with light brown hair came over.

"Is she ok?" the girl asked and Jax said

"She's fine Cherry." While we sat, I began to feel sick so I got up and ran down the hall to the bathroom. I closed the door, locked it then fell to my knees in front of the toilet and threw up violently until I couldn't breathe. Once I was done I sat with my back against the door. Someone knocked, I jumped.

"Who's there?" I asked in a choked whisper.

"It's me." the person said, it was Jax.

"Go away." I croaked.

"Come on," he said. "What's the matter Darlin'? Let me in. Talk to me."

I then looked up and saw a small window. I stood up, walked over and opened it. It was big enough for me to fit through and it was close enough to the ground that I could get out without hurting myself or making excessive amounts of noise. So I climbed out and ran down the alleyway.

When I got to the front of the clubhouse Jax was there and walking calmly towards me. I ran down the street, pushing past people as I went. I then turned off into the park.

I felt my chest and the muscles in my arms and legs burning but I forced myself to keep running. I was almost at the turn off to my street when I started to slow down, I couldn't keep running I had to stop. When I slowed down, Jax came up behind me and put his hands on my hips.

"Hey." he said softly.

"Please, leave me alone." I sobbed, trying to push him away. I didn't have the strength to push him away so I fell towards the ground. Jax caught me and held me close.

"Come on," he said. "I'll take you home if you want me to." I nodded and then shyly asked,

"Will you stay?"

"Sure." He said smiling and kissed me.

The kiss started gentle and slow, then he deepened it. I pulled back and he smiled then he rubbed my cheeks with his thumbs wiping away the remaining traces of tears that had fallen there. Then he helped me to my feet and we walked down the road to my house.
