Chapter 4 Chloe's POV

J- no! Just talk to me! What happened to you? That's all we ever did. Talk. Now all we do is fight. You just aren't the chloe I've always known.

That chloe left the second her father slapped her for the first time.

J- hello? Earth to chloe. Or whoever you are.

He walked away. I was so done. I wrote a note and left it hanging out of my locker for anyone who cared.

Josh's POV for this little part.

Chloe didn't show up for her next two classes. I decided I went too far and stopped by her locker. I took the paper that was sticking out of her locker. It said

"Goodbye. If you care, I'm leaving from Gantzy Park. ~chloe."

J- no... No. No.

I ran out of the school. Gantzy Park was just down the street. I got there and chloe was standing below a tree. I ran to her yelling her name.
C- Stop! I'm done! I'm sick of fighting, I'm sick of being bullied, I'm sick of being depressed, I'm sick of being abused, I'm just sick of all of it!
J- abused? Who is abusing you? Chloe, you need to tell me.
C- my dad. He's a drunk and he abuses me and my mom.
J- come with me. We need to tell the police.
C- no. No we can't. He'll just hurt me more.
J- chloe, they'll take him away.
C- but he'll know it was me.
Chloe's POV
Josh forced me to go to the police. I broke down in tears. When they brought my dad to the station, he saw me.
Cd- you little bitch!
C- I didn't want to. He- he made me!
Cd- I'll get both of you!
Josh held me tight in his arms.
J- he will never get you. Not as long as I'm around.
PO- miss lukasiak, I will take you to your house so you can gather your things to go to the foster home.
C- what about my mom? She was always locked away.
PO- miss, I'm sorry. We thought you knew. She has passed.
C- no. No. She didn't. I heard her talking this morning. I can't go to a foster home. I can't leave.
PO- I'm sorry miss Lukasiak.
C- will I still be able to go to FHRS?
PO- well, it is a homeschool house, but I'm sure we can work something out.
