Happily Ever After (A Colby Brock Fanfiction)

~Chapter 14~

Mara's Point Of View 

***One Week Later***

It has been a week since I found out that's I was pregnant, which means that I have had a week to think about how I am going to tell Colby. I think that I have it figured out.

I haven't told anyone yet, Devyn is the only one who knows and I've asked her not to tell anyone yet and I know that she won't. She said that she would watch Avery today while I tell Colby.

I wanted it to be special, but not over the top. I just dropped off Avery with Devyn, so now I am on my way to the store.

When I arrive at the store, the first thing that I pick up is a gift bag. Then, I make my way over to the baby section. When I got there, it was like realization hit me like a ton of bricks.

It's like just then in that moment, it hit me that in just nine short months, I'm going to have a baby. I felt like I was going to start crying, but I remembered that I was in the middle of the store and I needed to keep it together.

I walked down the aisle and I looked at everything very closely. I decided that I was going to get a green onesie that says 'I have the world's best daddy' on it. I also decided that I was going to pick up a pacifier and a baby bottle as well. 

Then, I went to the check out and headed home.

When I got home, I started to unpack everything that I got at the store. When I started to put the things in the bag, I realized that I might have went a bit overboard and got too many things and everything wouldn't fit in the bag.

I decided that I was just going to fold up the onesie and put that at the bottom of the bag so that you could see the words and I put the pregnancy test on top of that. I decided that I would just keep the bottle and the pacifier for when the baby was born.

Right now, Colby is with Sam filming a video for their YouTube channel, so all I have to do is wait for Colby to get home. I told him that I had a surprise for him when he got home and he said that he couldn't wait to see it.

Colby just pulled up in the driveway and I am freaking out! I have no idea why, I know that he is going to be really happy, I just don't know. I was literally fine just two seconds ago and now I am loosing it!

Okay, he's coming up to the door, time to pull myself together. The door opens, "Hey beautiful." He says giving me a kiss. "Where's Ave?" "Oh, she's with Devyn right now, but she is going to bring her back in a little bit. She's been with her all day, so I could get your surprise ready."

"Oh, is that it?" He says motioning to the gift bag that was on the table and I nodded. "Can I open it now?" I nodded again. "What's wrong?" "What do you mean? Nothings wrong. I guess that I am just a bit nervous about what you are going to think."

"Should I be worried?" He teased. "No, I mean, I don't think so. Can you please just open it? I don't know how much longer I can take the suspense." "Sure." He says and then looks into the bag.

He was quite for a moment, I think that he was confused. He lifted the test out of the bag and then realization hit him and I saw it, his face turned white. Crap. He's mad. 

He sat the test down on the table and took out the onesie. He lifted it up out of the bag and read what it said. A smile grew on his face. "Are you serious?" He said with the biggest smile ever.

I had a huge sigh of relief. He's not mad. I smiled and shook my head. He comes over to me and gives me a huge hug. "I'm so excited! When did you find out?" "Yesterday when I was filming with Devyn." "Oh, so she knows?" "Yeah, but she is the only one." "Okay, how are we going to tell Avery?"

We had been thinking of a way to tell Avery while we waited for her to get home. Devyn had just dropped Avery off and I have to admit, I am almost as nervous to tell her as I was to tell Colby.

"Hey, Avery, can we talk to you for a minute?" "Yeah, sure mommy." "Okay, how would you feel about being a big sister?" When I said that her face lit up. "Really!?" She said and gave me a huge hug. "I would love it!" "Good." I said and gave her a kiss on her forehead.

I really do love my growing family so much.
