I wake up trembling. Sweat coated my skin that crawled with fear. I lay awake in bed, calming my heartbeat and breathing. After debating with myself on what to do, I finally get out of bed.

I shower quickly and scramble through my unopened boxes. Once I found the one I want I open it up to dig for what I'm looking for. A smile graces my lips as I put on a little black dress with matching heels. There is a bar that isn't too far from the apartment that I'd wanted to check out when we first moved in.

I hit the elevator button down after I left the apartment. The soft music sang in my ears on my trip down to the old lobby. An old man at the front desk was slumped forward as snores came out in a rhythmic way. My legs felt cold as the cool night air hit them. It didn't smell the greatest but the cool air filled my lungs and calmed any nerves I had.

I walked the sidewalk in the direction of the bar I was looking for. The smell of fried food filled my nose and called me to the little pub. I walk in to the small bar that was once a house but was renovated. A man is sitting at the bar with his back to me and there are two couples playing pool in the corner.

"Hello, Vodka" the man at the bar calls. The drink in front of him is untouched unlike the brown hair a mess on top of his head.

"I'll take a cranberry vodka please." I order at the bar while ignoring the man that I had noticed had blue eyes.

"Cancel that, Steve. She can have mine." He calls to the man who is serving drinks. Then slides his long cup over to me.

"Don't worry I haven't touched it. I wanted to but I don't want to go down that road again. And that was too much information." He ends with his cheeks tinted. There was a long pause. "So do you have a name? Or should I call you mine?"

"I'm Vodka, don't you remember? And I don't drink either. I was getting it for you, you looked like you needed it." I flirt.

He casts a hand over his heart in a fake hurt way. "Such a beautiful girl with such a hurtful mouth." He comments.

"Such a big man with such easy feelings to hurt." I retort with an evil smirk.

"Alright, Vodka, I see how it is." The stranger shakes his head in a disappointing way but his smile makes me think that he truly doesn't believe it.

"I think I changed my mind about coming out." My voice speaks my thoughts, "I'll leave you to your not drinking."

The man raised the untouched glass my way in a good bye. The smile that he wore reached all the way to his blue eyes. They seemed to shimmer with his happiness.

As I leave for the door  I shake my hips slightly more than I usually would. My rear piped up and down in a way that was unusual for me. I opened the front door but not before peeking back to see the man staring at my rear. I scolded with my eyes as his met mine.

My face heated and he looked me up and down with no Shane in sight. He sent me off with, "Take care, Vodka ."

I gave a little wave before leaving the pub and back to my apartment. The little outing had given me time to get the nightmare out of me head. Now thoughts of the man flooded those empty spaces.

I was liking the big city more and more everyday.
