In the beautiful city of Haven, the sun melts my skin on a Monday afternoon. Being a recent graduate from my school Haven High, im hoping life isn't already hard as adults claim it to be. And sometimes it doesn't even matter what you know in Haven, it's really "who you know." I know what they preach maybe some gospel i should take into account, but i also want be young. I'm only 17 years old also trying to get my life together. I have 1,000 goals I want to achieve and making some kind of money was one of them. For college, for a car, and just to survive while my mother is un-employed with 6 damn kids.
"How do you feel about working with me today Jade? I won't work you too hard.", my uncle Eddie asks me. "Umm... sure." My uncle Eddie does heavy duty work, hence why I answered him the way I did, the jobs he does aren't very 'lady like', but they pay the bills. He knew I didn't like it too much but he still would ask anyway. Then suddenly, I get a phone call 12:00 in the afternoon.
"Good afternoon! Is this Jade Knowles?", the polite lady asks me.
"Yes this is Jade Knowles", I replied.
"Well this is Jimmy's Retail asking if you can come in for an interview this afternoon."
In all honesty, I even forgot I sent my resume in to this place. At this moment, she's probably overviewed my resume and thinks that I'm just a jobless typical high schooler just wanting a job like the rest. Which is semi-true, but now she wants to meet with me at 1:00. The clock ticks and it's already 12:15. I had to leave Uncle Eddie's work place ASAP to get ready for this interview. When I finally arrived to Jimmy's, I patiently waited out front for them to call my name to go inside the office.
They called me in and was very nice to me. They supposedly had 2 managers in there interviewing me. The main one who was asking more of the questions seemed like a pretty real, straightforward lady. Her name is Annabelle, a bright skinned, thick woman with beautiful long hair. The second manager seemed kind've counterfeiting to the eye. She likes to be addressed as "Ms. Lauren" even tho she's way younger than most of the workers in the shop. She's about my size (slim) , overloads her makeup (because later on throughout this story we finds out how insecure she is), and she exaggerates smiling . Let me show you an example:

Anyway moving on, they said they'll call me back and Thankyou for coming. I can tell you if i do get this job, I won't be liking 'Ms. LAUREN' too much.
It's really surprising that 2 days later I got a call back. I was extremely happy. I came in on Wednesday and they showed me the ups and downs and introduced me to the staff. There's a lady that stands out to me and always happy named Carol. She greets me with the most enthusiasm, and she reminds me of the older me.
