Movie Theater Catastrophe
Short Story

"A romantic and erotic short story about a boyfriend who's protective instincts allow him to save the girl he loves"

Maeve:

Dylan and I just pulled into the movie theater. He turns the car off and gets out quickly to run over and open the door for me, replicating the perfect gentleman. All the while he's telling me some story about when his friend got tackled in a pickup football game and his head landed in a pile of dog shit. I roll my eyes at him and ask why the hell he's telling me this story, all the while suppressing a smile because Dylan does hilarious impersonations.

Not only is he funny but he's beautiful; tall and lean, with a mop of brown hair that is softer than I can ever hope to achieve. He gives me a giant grin, his blue eyes crinkling as he puts his arm around me, our legs stepping in unison as we walk towards the theater entrance. Dylan checks his phone then startlingly grabs my hand and pulls me in the opposite direction away from the movie theater door.

"What are you doing?" I ask, receiving no response. We keep walking until Dylan turns the corner around the building and gently yet passionately pushes me up against the building wall.

"The movie doesn't start for 10 minutes," he says after we exchange a long awaited embrace with our mouths.

"We could have done this in the theater you know," I say, breathing heavily as Dylan grips my hips even tighter and tries to close the gap between us to practically nothing.

He doesn't respond but instead explores my mouth with his tongue, causing me to quietly moan into his mouth. Dylan keeps me pinned against the wall as if he's afraid to lose me, and presses his hand into the small of my back, causing me to melt into him. This intensity from him is unexpected but none the less exciting. I cover my mouth around his again and am about to jump up and start straddling him when I suddenly feel the pressure of his body off of mine, and hear him yell in what must be surprise. I open my eyes, confused, and gasp when I see two guys standing there. Each of them are holding one of Dylan's arms as he tries to fight them off. They look like 17 or 18, about our age.

"What are you doing?" I ask, my voice smaller than I expected, I don't think they even heard me.

All of the sudden someone comes up behind me and grabs me really violently, the same way the other guys grabbed Dylan. Out of instinct I immediately start flipping out, screaming and hitting the person who grabbed me. I'm set down and then take a huge blow to the stomach, feeling like all the air just came out of me and I can no longer breathe. I hear Dylan shout something at the guy, but I'm doubled over so I'm not sure what it was. It feels like a wardrobe is sitting on top of my chest. I turn my head slightly to see Dylan punch one of the guys holding his arm, only to get pinned down and kicked in the rib cage by the other. I let out a scream as he stops moving for a second, and I try to move towards him when the guy who grabbed me originally pulls me up by my arm.

"Shut the fuck up or I'll give your pretty boyfriend permanent brain damage," he says to me.

When he says this I think I might cry, but somehow I manage to keep it together, maybe just because I'm in shock. The guy pulls me away from the theater, me stumbling as he basically drags me, and I see the other two guys doing the same to Dylan. There is a small wooded area right by the theater, and the guys pull us only a little ways in and stop. The big guy who was pulling me suddenly gives me a forceful shove and I fall on the ground. I put my hand to my face and find that my lip is bleeding.

"What do you want with us?" I ask the guy, trying to steady my shaking voice. He has short curly hair, a crooked smile, and a build slightly smaller than a lineman, so still big.
