"DreamCatcher!" a loud and slightly deep voice spoke.
As if on cue, a small unicorn poked her head out of the door frame and spoke quietly and softly.
"Y-Yes, Princess Luna..?" she mumbled softly.
The princess of the night motioned for her apprentice to sit next to her. The young raven-furred unicorn sat down next to her mentor, her silvery mane shining in the moonlight. She looked at her mentor with her shining violet eyes.
"I think its time that i begin to place my trust in you while you are in the dream realm. Tonight, and for a few other nights, you will be in charge of protecting other ponies in their dreams." The alicorn princess said calmly.
"R-Really..? Oh thank you princess! Thank you for trusting me!" The young pony squeaked in excitement.
DreamCatcher raced out of the room and towards the balcony. She stood there motionless as the cool night winds blew through her mane. Her horn lit up and before she could enter the dream realm, an armored hoof tapped her shoulder.
"Um, hi Dream!" Said the pony behind her.
DreamCatcher whipped around to be face to face with one of princess Luna's guards, BloodMoon. The grey batpony stood confused for a moment before shaking their head to focus, their short, spiky, light blue mane.
"Oh! BloodMoon! You startled me!" She giggled.
"Oh sorry! I didn't mean to. I was just wondering what you are doing. Usually you enter the dream realm with Princess Luna." They said with suspicion in their voice.
DreamCatcher explained to her friend that this was going to be her first night in the dream realm without supervision. BloodMoon nodded her deep crimson eyes showing signs of calmness. She quickly left the scene to continue her usual border patrol.
DreamCatcher's horn lit up once more. Slowly darkness closed in on her as she is transported to the dream realm. She looked around in fascination as she waited for a dream with a nightmare to pass by so she could do her job of protecting ponies from their nightmares.
She waiting a few moments before she saw one. She quickly entered the dream and saw a pony screaming in fear. The pony was a young colt dreaming about Nightmare Moon murdering his family. DreamCatcher knew the outcome of nightmares, psychological damage. But she watched in fascination that a young pony of this age could dream of something this horrific. She wanted to do an experiment...
DreamCatcher left the dream withoit doing anything and entered another dream of another pony. This pony was having a wonderful dream about having a lovley dinner with her family. They seemed so happy but DreamCatcher used her horn to make the dream diffrent. Instead of having a happy family dinner, the mother of the family would grab a knife from the kitchen and kill everyone but the pony who was dreaming this.
DreamCatcher giggled to herself and watched as the young pony screamed in horror and ran around the house attempting to avoid the mother until it was morning.
DreamCatcher left the dream realm and felt accomplished that she could make another pony's dream so entertaining. She continued to turn innocent dreams into horrific nightmares for 3 whole nights until Princess Luna walked in on a dream where DreamCatcher was turning it into a nightmare.
"DreamCatcher...what have you done....?" She said in disbelief
