Niani wakes up not too long later, feeling a body shift beside her. She lets out a grumbling purr and sat up, blinking blearily at the warm moving mass against her. "Dad?" She yawned, only to see that instead of her father's brown coat that's much like her own, the body beside her had a golden coat of fur.

Definitely not her dad.

She lets out a startled scream and sits up too fast, only to stumble off the stone. The golden furred lion shot up as well, but immediately was on all four of his paws in a defensive position and looked around. "What is it? Is it Janja?" He asked, his sharp gaze looking around for any sort of danger from whomever this Janja was.

Almost all at once, Niani remembered where she was. She wasn't in the presence of a stranger, this was Kion. And they were in the Pridelands. On Pride Rock.

She got back to her feet as she heard the light and familiar run of her father, plus some other lions she recognized. "Are you alright?" He asked as he calmed down, looking around the area a bit cautiously before going over to sniff her.

"I-I'm okay!" She flushed hot beneath her fur. "I just forgot we made it here and got a little scared. But I'm fine! Really!" She felt embarrassed for causing such a commotion already. "I'm sorry."

Her father sighed, a sound that conveyed a mixture of relief and exhaustion, and brushed his muzzle against her. "You're okay. I was just worried."

She brushed back and looked over at a now calmer Kion and gave him an apologetic smile. "Sorry for scaring you like that."

"I wasn't scared!" He huffed and then puffed out his chest a bit proudly. "I'm the leader of the Lion Guard. And I'm the Pridelands' fiercest!"

"What's a Lion Guard?" She looked at him, blinking her large green eyes curiously up at him.

"It's my team. Made up of the Fiercest, Bravest, Strongest, Fastest, and Keenest of Sight. We protect the Pridelands and defend the Circle of Life."

"That sounds so cool!"

"Really?" He asked, feeling his face get a bit warmer as he couldn't help but smile at her interest. "Hey, I can introduce you! We're about to do patrol."

"I want to go. Can I, Dad?" She turned to him with a hopeful expression on her face. Moku didn't look too thrilled but relented with a small nod. "You may go with Kion but be careful! If there's any danger, come straight back here, understand?"

"Yes sir!" She smiled happily and looked at Kion. "Come on! I wanna meet your friends!" Before Dad changes his mind.

The other cub smiled and lead her off of Pride Rock, the pair running off and across the fertile savanna.
