Chapter 6

"Y'all suck at bowling, I've won for the fifth time now!" I laughed.

"Fuck off," Jordan giggled while rolling her eyes, "Not all of us are pro bowlers."

"Hey, do you guys maybe wanna come back to our place?" Billie asked.

"Yeah!" I cleared my throat, "I mean... sure, why not."

Billie smirked at me in a way that made my stomach go insane.

As she walked passed me, she went up to my ear and whispered, "You caught me off guard, It won't happen again... Just wait."

I was at a loss for words, just standing there in pure shock at what she just said.

"You coming?" Jordan asked.

I snapped out of my trance and replied, "Yeah."

We'd been at Billie's for got knows how many hours now. It was already dark out. I guess time really does fly by when your having fun.

"What do you guys wanna do?" I asked.

"I'm kinda tired... We should get back to Eli's." Jordan suggested.

"No, you guys can stay here! Me and Fin wouldn't mind." Billie stated with a huge, bright smile on her face.

God, that smile could light up the entire world. I've never seen something so beauti-

"Yo! Earth to Lexi!" Jordan shouted, pulling me out of my thoughts, "Wanna stay? or go?"

"Stay." Billie said in a cute controlling way, while looking at me up and down and biting her lip lightly.

She's so... woah.

"Come on." Finneas pleaded.

"Fine. But only cause I'm tired." I said with a straight face to make Billie feel like what she did didn't affect me at all.

Billie's POV:

This'll be fun.

Finneas and Jordan had already left for bed, it was only me and Lexi. When I looked over at her she looked extremely flustered and shy. I wondered where that big, confident act went.

"So..." She started.

As she was sitting opposite me, I decided to walk over and sit down next to her so I could... hear her better. When my arm brushed against hers, I heard her breath quicken. I was extremely surprised that one tiny act done to her could affect her that much. It was cute to watch.

"About today..." She carried on.

I moved her hair to the left side of her neck so I could see the bare skin it was covering. I placed soft kisses all over it and I whispered in her ear, "You're beautiful you know."

I saw goosebumps form on the back of her neck and I could hear her heart beating out of her chest.

"Stop it!" She shouted. She pushed me off of her and stood up.

"Woah... What's wrong?" I said in a concerned tone.

"You're giving me so many fucking mixed signals and it's fucking with my head. Today was an accident, I didn't mean to do that to you. My feelings got the better of me and I couldn't help myself. It's just... I'm just gonna go to sleep."

She started to walk away. Wait. Did she just say her feelings? I ran up behind her and grabbed her wrist.

"Lexi wait!"

She turned around to face me, "Wait for fucking what Billie?! You to actually admit to yourse-"

I pulled her into a kiss to shut her up. At first, it was a bit awkward. My hands were around her waist, but hers were just hanging down. Eventually, She threw her hands around my neck, deepening the kiss. I pulled her body closer to mine. For a second, we stopped kissing to catch our breath. She smiled on my lips and god was that the cutest shit. I lifted her up, placed her on the kitchen desk and carried on kissing her. I started to trace my fingers along her skin under her shirt.

I guess what came next was karma.

She pushed me away, "I can't..." She jumped down from the desktop and hurried to the door, "I'm sorry."

Slam. That was the last thing I heard. That moment played over and over in my head. The tears I saw in her eyes just before she shut the door made my heart hurt a little. Jordan came rushing down the stairs. I couldn't move. What the fuck just happened?

"What the fuck just happened?" She asked.

"Just what I was thinking..." I replied, "I guess you could say, shit got heated and she said she couldn't do it and... left."

Her face went from neutral to scared, "Do you know where she went?"

"No, why? Will she be okay?" I asked worried.

"Last time she wasn't..."

She headed for the door. I ran after her.

"Wait! What happened last time Jordan?!"

She turned around and replied, "There's a lot of things you don't know about her yet Billie... maybe one day she'll tell you. It's not my position to."

And with that she was gone.

Lexi's POV:

This can't happen again. I can't fall in love again. Not after-

"LEX?! LEXI?! ARE YOU OUT THERE?!" I heard Jordan shout.

I was so stuck inside my thoughts that I didn't even realise I made my way to the same place my whole life was fucked over by.

"Lex? Is that you?" She turned her flash on and shone it in my face. I covered my teary eyes from the sudden bright light.

"Jord..." I couldn't hold in my emotions anymore. I bursted out crying.

She ran up to me and held me tight in her arms, "I know, I know... It's okay."

I lifted my head from her shoulder, looked up at her and said, "But it's not, how after two years does it still affect me... We should've just stayed in New York. What if she comes back?"

"She won't, okay?" Jordan assured me.

I was struggling to breathe. My chest hurt. My heart hurt. Jordan brushed her fingers through my hair and whispered, "I'm here for you, forever and always, I promise... I was then and I still am now."

She always knew how to make me feel better.

"Look, I'm gonna go get the car and we can go back to Eli's okay? You can tell me what happened or you don't have to if you don't want to, either way it's okay, just breathe. You know you can tell me anything." She kissed my forehead and held me for a few more minutes.

"Thank you Jord, I love you so much."

"I love you too Lex."
