AN: Hi there, just letting you know I have no life so therefore the terrible photoshops happened... Also, I should be able to update in the next few days. Please vote and leave comments so I can follow you! ;)

-SHAI POV-

"Shai! Hurry up! Kylie is here!" My Mum's yells echoed through the house.

It was Monday morning and I am walking to school with Kylie like I have every day since the start of year 8.

"I'm coming!" Sometimes I wish my mother wasn't so organised and on time.

"Pooooooofaaaace where arrrreeee yooou?" I hear Kylie's voice nearby.

"Bathroom!" I yell back at her as I smile at her silly nickname for me.

Ever since we met in year 7 we became best friends. Laughing or crying together over trivial things like Home & Away, things other people would do or even silly faces we'd pull. We'd have copious amounts of sleepovers and together with Nellie we'd get ourselves through boring maths lessons. Us three were always in the same class.

Of course there's also the 'Cholesterol Squad' with contains the three of us as well as Cleo Smith and Lola Cunningham. Our squad name came from an autocorrect incident and since then our squad has stuck.

"Hullo," she says as she skips into the bathroom with a smile.

"Hi. Did you do that HSIE homework?" I ask as I straighten my bangs.

"I thought that was due tomorrow!"

"It is Silly, I just got it done early,"

"Only you Shai, only you," she rolls her eyes as she walks out the bathroom door.

"What do think about Tully Reed's new hair?" Kylie says from beside me.

I snort, kicking a stone on the path. "It looks like she swam in a pool with waaaay to much chlorine"

"Yeah, it is a tad on the green side... Did hear how Lyndon Gray cheated on her? I don't know why she was surprised. He's such a player." She starts sniggering, "He'd be good at poker..."

While Kylie laughs at her own terrible joke I think about what she said. The truth was, Lyndon Gray had always intrigued me. Ever since his fight three years ago I'd wondered what goes on in his head.

But Kylie was right, he was a huge player and anyone who dared to think otherwise would get their heart broken big time. Not to mention he was still the naughtiest boy in the school because he's had to repeat year 12.

"...then I said to her that she was soooo rude sometimes. But she just turned around and walked away! Ehhh she's so annoying."

"Huh? Who were you talking about?" I say confused.

"Were you even listening to me?" she says with a frown.

"Ah no, sorry"

"Lol you can be so dopey sometimes," she says.

A block away from school a Mini Cooper pulls up along side of us with a short blonde girl and a middle aged man inside jamming along to some stupid 90's song.

"Nellie!" Kylie exclaims as the blonde gets out of the car.

"Have you got water?" Her Dad says to her.

"Yes," Nellie replies as she rolls her eyes.

"What about lunch?"

"Dad! Please..." But he just laughs and kisses her on the cheek.

"Have fun at school girls!" he calls to us, "Don't get in too much trouble."

"See ya John!" Kylie and I call back as he drives away.

"Hey there girlies" Nellie says as she hugs us tightly, "What's up?"

"Nothin' much," I say as we continue along the path. "How was the basketball carnival on the weekend?"

"Yeah, ok. I spent over $60 dollars on books though," she adds with a smile.

"Nerd," Kylie smiles back. "Then again, Shai has already finished the HSIE homework."

"We had homework?" Nellie exclaims.

"Yes we did. If you'd been paying attention and not arguing with Lola about who can eat a pie faster you would have known," I add.

"Well I won that bet anyway so it was so worth it."

"...thou shall never vanquish another' said George as he brought the blade upon the murder's head."

Sixth period and I was beginning to realise why everyone else thought Shakespeare was as interesting as watching paint dry. Normally I was the only one to stay fully awake while Mr Hancock was reading in his droning voice to the class but even I found it hard to keep my head off the desk this afternoon.

Beside me, it looked like Nellie was totally out, complete with the mouth open eyes closed look and Kylie was on her phone with earphones in. I frown at my friends lack of concern for their grades. Sometimes it feels as though I'm the only one who cares about my future.

A few minutes later the bell rings, signalling the end of the day and rousing the class from their slumber.

"Now for homework I want you to all research twelve Shakespearian compliments and ten Shakespearian actors." Mr Hancock shouts over the chatter of the dismissed class.

Together with Kylie and Nellie I walk towards my Mum's classroom. "See you tomorrow." I say over my shoulder as they continue to the stairs.

"Bye!"

"See ya later alligator!"

The smile's still on my face as I turn the corner and run hard into something running out of Mum's classroom and I go flying onto the ground.

"Ehhh, what the..." I groan, keeping my eyes closed.

"Shit!" I hear someone say nearby. I slowly open my eyes...

And look straight into the blue ones of Lyndon Gray.

"You alright?" He smiles at me.

"Uhhhh," I scramble to my feet. "Yeah, I suppose."

I look at him again, he's still smiling and his bright blue eyes are staring into my boring brown ones. My stomach swoops.

"Right, good," His smile fades and I realise I'm staring. "See ya then," he says as he walks away.

I walk into my Mum's room in a daze. But why? He's a jerk, everyone knows that.

Even as I admit that to myself, I still fall asleep that night dreaming of bright blue eyes and dimpled smiles.
