After IU, Sulli to star in “Persona 2”

Actress Sulli will come back with a new work after 2 years of hiatus. She will act in the second series of “Persona” - the original omnibus movie of Netflix.

Recently, many representatives of the production team told Sports Chosun, “After careful consideration, Sulli decided to mark her return with Netflix's original series - 'Persona Season 2' (hereinafter referred to as 'Persona 2').”

Previously, “Persona” aired in April is an omnibus short filmproject conducted by directors who have distinct taste and characteristic in Chungmuro, including Lee Kyoung Mi, Yim Pil Sung, Jeon Go Woon, and Kim Jong Kwan. The film reminds viewers of diverse images and stories about IU - whose competence was recognized in both singing and acting fields. “Persona” was planned by Yoon Jong Shin - the head of the entertainment content company Mystic Story and also a musician/all-round entertainer. This series will feature the participation of Mystic Story in production and of Netflix in global distribution.

With the concept of 1 actor selected by 4 directors, “Persona” series is a 4-color short film with the charm, taste, and individuality of the “muse” and directors. The work went viral in the film industry; therefore, amid that explosive attention, it was recently confirmed that part 2 will continue to be produced. Season 2 will have the participation of 5 directors, thereby promisingly telling more diverse stories than season 1.

“Persona 2” has heralded the birth of a more complete series. Sulli is expected to receive lots of attention when being cast as the second muse contributing to completing this project. The female artist will follow her close friend, IU, and become the protagonist in “Persona 2”. Sulli challenged herself with the official return to the acting field through “Persona 2” after 2 years since she showed her extraordinary acting with the role of Song Yoo Hwa in “Real” (director Lee Sa Rang) premiered in 2017. “Persona 2” will also be released in the form of an omnibus with 5 short films displaying the novel, way-out acting filled with Sulli's unique charisma.

“Persona 2” featuring Sulli will start filming in the second half of 2019 and premiering in 2020.
