Nails polished, make up added professionally by Ashley ( who was an artist for a top make up studio), hair fantastically blown by Jazz, waxing done by Tuyen, lemon dress on… having been chosen by “the girls” and all matching accessories; handbag, shoes and jewels in either the colour nude or gold…Ellie was ready.
The whole team of friends were gushing with positive comments about how great Ellie looked….and she certainly did look…an absolute vision of serenity, and allure….with a hint of spice.
The spice may have been injected to the equation by a chilly pepper that was in Ellie’s shoe, having been dropped there a little time ago by Loner. Loner was often collecting things in his mouth and spitting them in all kinds of directions when it did not turn out to be one of his two favourite M and M’s….Meat and Music.
Ellie added her own final finishing touches alone; whilst her friends all went downstairs to gather in the hall to see her off.
Flapping its wings, the “Big Girl” car appeared in sight of everyone as they opened the big blue front door and saw a haze of milk white and cream leather appearing up the drive, surrounded by dust… with Kramer driving. Kramer looked as proud of himself as could possibly be, when he arrived to whisk Ellie off on her trip to the airport.
Before she came down though, Denny, Loner and Crazy Kid came galloping down the garden path, not wanting to miss anything.
While Ellie had been getting ready, Denny had taken Loner and the Crazy Kid back down the garden to “look busy”, should anyone have wanted to get annoyed with any of them.
Denny knew that it would not have been a good idea to let Ellie, Tuyen and the girls see him dribbling and drooling into the flowers, as he and Loner watched them dancing, and Crazy Kid had burst in wearing the purple Lottie knickers. It was far better that they skulked off for a while to let things die down.
They knew just how and when to reappear though and now that Loner and Crazy Kid had become firm friends …they had been playing together in the sea…it was a real sight to see them coming along, singing, dancing and now all wearing Mexican hats. (Denny had a secret stock of them in his potting shed)
“I want more” shouted Denny as he danced down the lawn with Loner and Crazy Kid, both of whom seemed so excited to be involved and Denny was excited again at the thought of seeing Ellie in her lemon dress.
Loner stopped… rolled his eyes and then… went back to get his bass guitar, he was really in the party mood now.
Crazy Kid continued to dance, on his horns this time, and now Denny was shouting (and dribbling from the corner of his mouth), “I want more”…and then loner reappeared.
Loner was banging out a real dancing bass riff now to the tune of Denny singing “I want more”….they were all getting into the groove again and there was no stopping them.
They danced together and sang all their way to the front porch, where all the girls now were standing and Kramer was also chatting with them. He was happy to be in their company after creaming all morning.
Loner was really the master of this bass groove now and the new song “I want more” that everyone seemed to be singing and they all got hooked up on dancing and singing together….
Ellie finally appeared in what can only be said to be an astounding entrance.
WOW! They all said…and their jaws dropped!
“Magnificent”, said Kramer….shall we go to the “Big Girl?”….He couldn’t wait to have Ellie in his Creamed leather seats (as he called them)… No one said anything, except Ellie simply said one word “yes”.
Everyone was mesmerised as Kramer lead Ellie to his “Big Girl” ride, as he called it….they sped off to the airport together in a whirlwind of dust, and what looked like white milk clouds.
Finally, Ellie was on her way…
