"Why are you doing this to me?"

The one person I actually thought I could trust was practically strangling me in front of my peers..and the funny part was that they weren't helping me.

"Because you deserve this, maybe this will teach you a lesson when it comes to cheating on me," he sneered.

His breath smelt of tobacco and alcohol, the two things that kept his mind cloudy form seeing what he was actually doing to me.

"I thought I could trust you...I th-thought.." I could barely finish my sentence when my vision slowly went black.

~1 YEAR EARLIER~

"Mackenzie it's time to wake up," yelled my mother.

"Alright I'm getting up."

I loved my mom, don't get me wrong, but in the mornings, people need to understand that you shouldn't talk to me or associate to me because I will get mad.

Mornings are just not my thing.

I groaned as I slowly got out of bed and went to the bathroom. Looking into the mirror, I saw a girl that looked like someone from a horror movie. I grabbed my brush and attempted to brush out the aching knots that my hair somehow gets every single night.

I have to practically drag myself back into my room. I open up my closet and look for something that will hopefully make me look decent. It was my second week of high school and I'm at the point where I don't care how people think of me. I grab my black yoga pants, white converse, and a long t-shirt.

I walk back into the bathroom and put on a little powder, and mascara. I really don't have that flawless complexion that you see in movies, but all I need is just a little bit of touching up. A little bit goes a long way right?

"Mackenzie, you better hurry up or you're never going to make it," yelled my mom.

"Alright mom, just give me a minute," I sighed.

I brush my hair until its decent enough to put in a ponytail and rush downstairs. I'm greeted by my father, mother, and little brother Josh.

"Mackenzie you look like someone from a horror movie," Josh giggled.

"Haha, thanks I know," taking a sip of coffee. Coffee is the one thing that keeps me calm in the morning.

As I'm about to sit down, I feel a buzz against my hip. I look down and it's a text from my boyfriend Aaron.

Hey babe, I'm outside, Let's gooooooooo.

Alright, calm yourself. I'm walking out.

God he can be so demanding sometimes. I grab my backpack, a piece of toast, and kiss my parents goodbye.

"Have a good day at school Mac," says my father.

"Yeah, we'll see," I yell as I'm walking out the door. I'm meeted by a tall boy with a devilish grin leaning against the hood of a red mustang.
