"Pastel*Palettes comes first?" I said, shocked.

Her words were sincere.

"Thanks for helping me yesterday and today, though. You're a great guy, (Y/N-san)."
She gave me a kiss on the cheek and walked towards home.

Does that mean this is it? No. Just one thank-you kiss won't cut it for me! Not to be selfish, but I'd like a bit more. She did seem sad while telling me that.

I had no choice but to head home as well. As I went to bed, I didn't make a plan for the next day.

I went to school, as usual. Chisato wasn't in class. Kanon-chan told me that Chisato had an appointment with a talent agency of some sort.

"You seem occupied today, are you okay?" Kanon asked me during lunch.

"Yeah. Chisato again. You know, all this worrying is bad for my health. I think I've got a few gray hairs already…"

"Please don't worry too much! Did you help her with her dream?"

"Yeah," I responded. "It went well, but then she told me…"

I explained what happened to Kanon-chan.

"Oh… So it's like that. But I can help…"

Kanon-chan offered me help. She's such a great friend.

I did as instructed. I waited at a shop named 'Hazawa Coffee' after school, and not too long after I sat down at a table, a cute girl with short brown hair attended to me.

"Hello," she greeted me with a smile. "Welcome to Hazawa Coffee! You're a new face."

"Yeah, I'm new. I was recommended this place by a close friend." I told her. "I'd like a coffee, please. Four sugars."

"Gotcha! Coming right up!"
She hustled back to the kitchen.

Suddenly, a person barged into the shop. They had purple hair and seemed to exude a princely energy.

"Hmm, might that be the person that Kanon-chan told me about?"

I scoped them out. Nah, they look too weird. Kanon-chan wouldn't hang out with them.

The person looked around. Suddenly, we locked eyes, and they came rushing toward me.

"Ahh, might you be the esteemed (Y/N)-kun that Kanon-chan told me about? Let's see… Yes, definitely!"

"Wait, you're Kaoru-kun?"
I was shocked. I've heard the name 'Kaoru', and how they knew Chisato, but I've never actually seen him!

"Nice to meet you, man!" I told Kaoru.

"I am Kaoru, yes. But I am no man!"

"M-my mistake." I apologized.
I could've sworn it was a guy. This Kaoru is in Kanon-chan's band…?

She sat down across from me.
"Why did my little kitten tell me to meet you here?"

"Oh, she didn't tell you?" I said. "She said you'd help me with Chisato-chan."

"Ahh, Chi-chan… Fleeting…"
Kaoru looking away.

"Fleeting?" I asked.

"Yes. Chi-chan and I go back. She's always been an interesting girl. I remember when we did a play about Romeo and Juliet. I was Romeo, of course…"

This conversation is going nowhere.
Why did Kanon-chan make me do this? I appreciate the thought, but...

Then, as I was deep in thought, the same girl who attended me came to our table.
She put down my coffee where she was and walked toward us.
