I basically made this cuz I wanna write x Reader stuff with Kankuro and Gaara. But if you have any suggestions, hit me up.
I do smuts obviously but if you ask for one and under the age of 18, I won't do it.
Author's Note: This just randomly came to me.. Probably because I stayed up late tonight, working on stuff and now I'm just laying in bed, wide awake. The thought of snuggling with Kankuro is pretty nice though~
Sorry if this is heckin lame though. Also, I tried to make the reader fit for any gender which was hard cuz I'm used to female readers BUT...yeah.
Warnings: Just simple fluff and maybe a tiny bit of angst? Nothing too bad.

Kankuro releases a long and loud yawn, stretching his limbs out as he leans back into his chair. 'What time is it..?' He wonders as his blurry vision moves towards the clock on the wall. "2:51 A.M" The Puppetmaster releases a heavy sigh as guilt washes over him. Not the fact that he has now messed up his sleep schedule but he also left his partner waiting on him to come to bed all night long. Lately he has been super caught up into working on his puppets, making sure they are in top form for any upcoming missions. His partner, (Y/N), mentioned that they know this is important to him and they'll leave him to his work but Kankuro knows deep down that they wish he would give more of his time to them, instead with these damn puppets.
After a moment sitting in his thoughts, Kankuro rises from his seat and immediately feels the ache in his legs as blood rushes through them. He makes his way through the dark house and into the bedroom where lies the (H/C), sleeping peacefully on their respected side of the bed.
The brunette gazed at his partners sleeping figure that currently has their limbs wrapped around a pillow. Kankuro can't help but to smile a little at the view. He then gets into his sleepwear, which is just sleep pants with no shirt on, and crawls into his side of the bed. Slowly and carefully, he moves closer to (Y/N) and wraps his arms around their waist, pulling them closer to his chest as he buried his face in the crook of their neck, hoping that didn't wake them up. Unfortunately, (Y/N) starts to stir and stretches out their limbs a bit. "Mm... Kankuro..?"
"Hey.. Sorry that I woke you up." He mumbled against their neck. "Just go back to sleep." His warm breath hit their skin on their neck, which sends a wave of comfort over (Y/N)'s body as they roll over to face their boyfriend and press their face into his bare chest. "No it's okay.." They mumbled with a sleepy tone. A long stretch of silence broke out in the room which made Kankuro think the (H/C) fell back asleep.
"I missed you.." Kankuro tenses up a little, feeling guilt wash over him again. He could hear the loneliness in their tone which breaks his heart in two. "I'm sorry.." He mumbles against the top of their head as he places a soft kiss. "I..I didn't realize how much time had passed." He pauses a moment. "You know what..scratch that. There really isn't any good excuse for my absence. I'm so sorry, (Y/N)."
(Y/N) pulls back their head to look up at their boyfriend with sleepy eyes and a small smile. "You're here now... that's all that matters to me.." They place a small kiss under Kankuro's chin which makes his heart flutter. He then returns the small smile and leans down, gently placing a small kiss onto their forehead and then on their lips. "I promise, no more late night work. I actually should take a break.. so the next few days are all about you, okay?" Kankuro grins at his partner which was met by a sleepy nod.
"Okay.." (Y/N) moves their head back to Kankuro's chest and snuggles close to him as sleep quickly comes to them. "I love you, Kankuro." They mumbled against his bare chest. Kankuro smiles and places another small kiss on top of their head and closes his eyes, thinking how lucky he is to have this wonderful person in his life.
