CHAPTER 9: DNA RESULT

Tin was rushed to the hospital as soon as they decked onshore. Plan was sitting on the side deck on the boat, covered in warm blankets.

"Here, have something hot to drink." Ming gave Plan a mug of hot tea and sat beside his boyfriend.

There was a long moment of silence between the two, Plan was so deep in his thoughts while Ming was just his normal calm and collected self.

"There's something I have to tell you." Plan spoke, breaking the eerie silence.

He let out a huge sigh. "The person I just saved now---and the person who I always talked to you before about as my destiny---are the same."

Ming's expression did not change, but he took a small anxious swallow. His eyes gazing out on the dark horizon.

"Tin was that one person I have long wanted to find here in Thailand." Plan put down his drink beside him and moved to face Ming.

Again, silence ensued. Both looking at each other's eyes, which what seemed to be the longest most silent two minutes in their lives.

"Okay..." Ming replied, playing it coyly. "So.. you two finally met." He was trying to hold his tears in. "Congrats!"

Plan was speechless at how Ming was reacting. But he couldn't blame him. For he knew he too was hurting.

He remembered when during their private moments together, Ming would always ask him what if he already found his "destiny".

He knew Ming was afraid that when that day comes, he will be relegated again to the back---that Plan would choose his "destiny" over him.

"Who would have thought that our world was that small." Ming snickered. "Remember that colleague I was telling you about that I have been pursuing for the longest time but never even gave me an ounce of attention?"

"Remember the guy I told you who couldn't even look me in the eyes when all I did was shower him with love?" He looked away, as he could no longer contain his tears from falling. "Yep--- it's also the same guy." His voice broke."

Plan reached out for Ming's hand.

"Well, now you've found him..." Ming trailed off. "What's your plan?"

"I don't know---I seriously don't know." Plan answered honestly. He was deeply conflicted.

"Well, you can choose to break up with me now--- anyway, we only just got official and out in public a few hours ago." Ming snickered, wiping his tears away.

"I always knew this day would come anyway--- not this soon, and not in this messed up situation, but I knew you will eventually meet him and that I need to give you the freedom to choose and decide." Ming continued.

"No, no---don't say that." Plan said. "Of course, I will choose you. Things have changed. I love you."

Ming smiled at Plan but tears started streaming down his face again. He perched his lips restraining himself to spit out the words he always wanted to say.
