Stepping off the bus, my best friend Amelia right behind me, I breathed in the smell of Downtown Vancouver. The usual Starbucks/alcohol/traffic fume smell filled my nostrils.
"Nothing like going Downtown without adult supervision, huh?" I said sarcastically, turning around to face her. She looked at me and replied, laughing.
"Yeah, definitely! Can't wait for the concert tonight, though. Me and my best friend off to see five gorgeous boys with amazing voices. What could be better?"
"Your grammar, perhaps?"
"Oh, shut up."
I laughed and stuck out my tongue at her. We headed over to McDonald's by the Vancouver Public Library and picked up two McFlurries. She got an Oreo flavoured one and I got an Aero caramel one. Licking some off of the McFlurry off my spoon as we left McDonald's, I pulled our concert tickets out of my pocket and checked the time of the concert.
"Okay, so the concert starts in three hours. Let's go to the Candy Factory and buy some candy, then head over to Roger's Arena and line up. That way we can get good seats." I said, trying to shove the tickets back into my pocket without ruining them, or dropping my McFlurry. Amelia laughed as I kept struggling. Finally, I managed to get them back into my pocket without dropping anything.
"Okay, let's go get candy then. You lead the way though, because I have absolutely no clue as to where we are." she answered, putting her hands up in false defeat. Chuckling, I walked up the street, over to the corner where the Candy Factory stood.
"Alright, remember, don't overdo it on the candy. We want some money left over and I don't think you want to meet the boys while on a sugar high. You know, more for their safety than anything else." I directed. She put a fake sad face on as we walked into the store. Watching her as she gathered up a bag full of her favourite gummies and sweets, I proceeded to do the same, taking mostly sour gummies into my baggie. Amelia Johnson has been my best friend since we met in grade eight, on the very first day of class. She and I sat next to each other and we just instantly clicked. Now, here we are, seventeen and finally going to a One Direction concert. Not to mention that it was also going to be the very first concert I will have ever attended. Needless to say, I was hyped up and super excited.
"Oh my god, what if Louis takes off his shirt? I will die right there and then." She exclaimed excitedly, snapping me back into reality. I started laughing.
"Oh, you and your Louis obsession, Amelia. It never gets boring, that's for sure." I replied.
"What about you? You're in love with Liam."
"Yes, but I don't make it that obvious to anyone except you. Hurry up and pay for your candy, will you? I want to get a good spot in the line before it gets too long." I said impatiently.
"Alright, alright. Geez, just hold your horses woman!" She shot back, paying the guy behind the register.
"I don't own any horses to hold, now let's get going already." I replied sarcastically, starting to exit the candy store. She followed suit, and together, with our McFlurries and bags of candy, we headed down the block over to Roger's Arena. We got there and quickly ran over to the door, where there were about seven people already lined up. Now only to wait for them to let us in.
