Sophomore Red

BIES...

With the help of Logan we where able to create one smoke bomb. Not a lot unfortunately but enough to get us to the wood shop classroom. We will have to think up of another plan once we get to the classroom.

Aidon, Cali, Sariah, Logan, and I are currently located in building one, Zoe is in building 3 which is on the opposite side of the quad. The quad is a large green grass area at the center of the four original buildings. At the center of the quad is a stone statue of the schools spirit animal, The White Dove. The quad is currently overrun with zombies. Zombies? Why are we calling them that? They aren't zombies. Zombies do not exist.

"You sure the smoke bomb will work?" Aidon asked uncertain with the plan "I can count 3 juniors, 5 freshmen's, 2 seniors, and 6 sophomores. Why is there so many sophomores?"

"We are the largest class." Sariah and I answered.

"I don't know what the smoke will do to them. What ever infected them seem to have made them...."

"Stupid" Logan finished

"Intellectually impaired" I corrected. "The smoke hopefully will disorient them"

Aidon nodded "ok"

Logan stepped forward with the smoke bomb.

"What's in the bag?" Aidon asks

"Well Kay thought that if this works then we could use the materials to make more. Since I'm the only one with a bag..."

"Hmmm" Aidon nodded

"Welp... Here goes nothing" Logan lite the fuse using a bunsen burner and tossed the smoke canister as far into the quad as possible.

The hissing of the smoke building up and escaping into the area drew in the students. The effects of the smoke bomb isn't what I was hoping for. However it served its purpose. As the students drew closer toward the can they became disoriented and stood paralyzed in place.

"Now is our chance while the students are gathered in the quad use the pathways to get to building 4" I quickly ordered.

The smoke bomb is small and will only smoke for about 5 min. One by one we all filed out of the chemistry classroom and power walked over to building 3. Once near the front doors Aidon peaked into the building finding it clear. A few moments later we are at the doors of the classroom. Aidon jiggled the handle finding it locked.

"Text your friend" He orders

Text your friend I mocked as I pulled my phone out my pocket. A min went by then three then ten with no response. I'm getting worried that something might be wrong.

"Everyone stay here, I'll slip around back and see if I can get in through a window."

"I'll come with you" Aidon said quickly "It's dangerous by yourself"

"Sorry you can't you cannot fit through the slipway I'll be 3 min tops, ok"

Aidon sighs and nods his head.

"Be careful" Sariah tells me before I jogged out of the building.

For a moment I paused as I studied what the students where doing in the quad. The smoke bomb had fizzed out, small wisps of residual smoke drifted up into the air only to be blown away by a soft breeze. The students who congregated on the quad however stood motionless as if confused about something, or are they waiting for something. Not wanting to alert them to my presence I quietly rounded the building and entered the slipway. Nose and ears on overdrive I listen to see if there is any of them prowling behind the building. Hearing nor smelling nothing I continued on. The wood shop is sound proofed to prevent the noise from disturbing other students but sometimes the teachers open the windows to let the room air out.
