When I lost you
I gave up my incredible view
Of the sun, the moon, and the stars
Your beautiful world and those countless hours
Spent watching the sun come up
Talking about all our endless love
That we could possibly share
How much we could care
For each other
You were the perfect lover
And the perfect friend
But breaking up was the trend
My troubled world you could contain
With you lovely words and simple pains
But the ways are changing
An my tears are staining
The cheeks they fall upon
Drawn on by children's crayon
But children grow up
Time to wakeup
I lost my wonderful window
And my best friend though
I drew the shades
Just like sharp blades
Into my heart
Won't go back to the start
Missing this until the end
Regretting all things unsaid
Because I loved you
And your wonderfully, incredible view.
