***************************************************************************************
Dearest Alfred,
The days went on like a million eternities in my eyes. Bodies devoid of life surrounded me. Their eyes were open, blank and staring infinitely into the world beyond. Scars and bruises fill every inch of their translucent skin; a reminder that life is a struggle, an endless battle that has no finale. Out here in the battlefield there is no friend or foe. Death is my constant companion.
War is Hell.
Yours,
Sophie
I roll that piece of parchment in my hand and placed it securely inside my empty canister. BOOM! THUD! A group of people simultaneously dropped to the ground after a huge attack. Their bodies twitched as the last strands of their strength left them. I flinched when I recognised one face that seemed to still fight for survival. I crawled to that person as the attacks grew fiercer.
"Hey, get a hold of yourself!"
I shook that fragile body until the person came to.
"Please, help me."
I enclosed her hand in mine and stared directly into her hazel irises.
"The only thing I can do for you is end your suffering."
I wound my fingers around her neck, and...
"Ano ba 'yan Sophia!!!"
I withdrew my fingers from her neck and smiled awkwardly.
"Hahaha!
"Sorry naman," I mumbled as I apologetically nodded at her and proceeded to crawl from body to body.
"Hey, there's Huriccane Sophie!! Let it rain!"
"WAAAH! Ilaaaaaaag!"
Left, right, up, up, down. The balls came from all directions. Kung saan-saan lang sumusulpot! Oop! That was a close one! I felt like I was in a videogame. Pero in fairness to me hindi pa talaga ako tinatamaan ng bola. Medyo stealthy eh... Hahaha!
"Saan na siya?? Hanapin niyo si Sophia!!"
Huh! Good luck nalang sa inyo! Ohohohohoho~ I carefully peeked through the heap of bodies and surveyed the surroundings. There were two groups of all boys and all girls, and nestled within each inner circle, as if guarded, was Nathan and Loren. Tsk! They're so safe inside their little circles while I'm here cowering behind my human pile. Not that I'm underestimating the strength of women! It's just that...

FantasyThey say when you die your whole life flashes before your very eyes. In a sense those sayings were true because I had personally experienced it. But, when I thought I had spent my last day here on Earth, I only opened another chapter to my book of L...
