That little girl playing on the school playground,
watched mommy and daddy fight.
She watched mommy hit the floor
as daddy uncleanched his fist.
That little girl is now eleven and playing sports.
She saw mommy and daddy split,
and watched mommy eat more "candy" before
she fell asleep.
The little girl is now fourteen
She's eating candies of her own and
inhaling nature's grass
A year has passed and she's now fifteen.
She's lying on her back with a strange man
at her chest.
It's the only way she can afford to live
She's seventeen now and she repeats
to herself that
"She's nothing,
She's nothing"
as she stabs the needle into her vein.
It's that little girl's eighteenth birthday now.
Her mommy is crying as she sings 'Happy Birthday'
to that little girl's grave.
