"Hey Jeanette," Fred approaches me as I clock in.
"What's up, Fred?"
"I have a special project that has you written all over it."
"What is it?"
"We're doing a fall harvest event this weekend and the leaves on the side of the building are out of control. You think you and a few other associates of your choosing could grab some rakes and clean up?"
"Sure, Fred. I would be delighted. I do have one teeny, tiny condition."
"What's that?"
"I could rake faster if I could listen to some music while I do it. Please?"
"Fine with me just make sure you are able to hear what's going on around you. You know, safety first."
"Thanks Fred."
Gathering Grace, Gen, and Heather, we bundle up to rake leaves outside. I put on my headphones and listen to my typical November playlist.
"I can't believe anyone said no to being outside today," Gracie says after a while. "It's so beautiful out."
"You couldn't pay me to be inside right now," Gen says.
"It's a little cold for me but I have enough layers on to enjoy this," Heather says. "We should so warm up with apple cider after we're done. Right Jeanette?"
"Absolutely," I answer.
"Hold on. Wait a sec. Jeanette, please tell me you're not already listening to Christmas music," Gen asks me. "It's not even Thanksgiving."
"Oh no, Jeanette," Heather says. "I leave you alone about your pumpkin, but I cannot condone Christmas music early. That is were I have to draw the line."
"Sorry Boo," Gracie says. "I can't side with you on this one. It's far too early for Christmas music."
I stop raking, look at my friends, and smile.
"Beware of the Christmasing," I say laughing hysterically.
