Prompt 1: Starlight Within
Takes place before the events of the music video

"Elder?"

"Yes, Strive?"

"I want to go outside."

"Strive, my child, it's late. You have to go to sleep."

"But I can't! How can you sleep with a sky like this?"

The night sky illuminated the tiny hut, the stars above shining brighter than ever as the nebulae slowly waltz around them, with a comet or two streaking across the sky. It was truly a sight to see. Strive stared at it with such wonder and amazement. They eventually turn towrds the elder.

"Did we really come from stars?" Strive asked, their ears perking up.

The elder hummed. "Yes we did. All things came from stardust, and each of our souls is tied to one specific star in the sky. When we die, we return to the night sky laid before us. From stardust we came, and from stardust we return."

"Wow," Strive said, still taking in the information. "So I'll be a little twinkly star one day?"

The elder chuckled. "Not exactly. Although, some ancients say that we can channel our inner starlight, but I'm not so sure what that even means."

Strive continued to gaze at the sky. "Where's my star?"

"Well you're not going to find it here." The elder said, picking up Strive. "Come, let me show you where it is."

"Really?" Strive gasped, placing their hands on top of the elder's head. "Even though it's really really really late?"

"Just this once," the elder laughed, closing the door behind them, "and then you have to go to bed."

"I will! I promise!"

"Promise on the stars?"

"I promise on the stars."

That was the last time they ever saw the stars.

Author's Notes: my Strive uses they/them pronouns. I hope y'all like it!
