He wrapped his arms around her waist and I could see her relax against him although she was still looking a bit guilty.
"You must Kiara King. I'm Mason Owens. Erica's mate." He stretched one arm out to shake my hand as I did the same. I could feel Nox's gaze on my palm pressed against the newly introduced wolf. Julia snickered.
I looked at Erica who was smiling a bit. She knows that I didn't hold it against her. It wasn't in my nature.
I pulled her forward out of his grasp and hugged her. "Missy I'm so happy for you!"
When I pulled back she was smiling and crying a bit. "I'm sorry for not telling you. It's been a hard secret to keep from Jamie and I didn't want you to hate me for not saying anything."
I smiled sadly. "Jamie is not going to be happy if she finds out and I know you're sworn to not tell, but I will for you."
The two pack wolves stiffened. "You can't do that Kia." Julia said with a bit of panic in her voice.
I looked her in the eye, a bit confused. "Why not? She already knows about werewolves and supernaturals. And not a member of the pack, so I'm not bound to it's rules."
"She might disclose..."
"Jamie isn't that type of person." I cut her off. "She knows how to keep a secret." I eyed Erica and she looked back nodding.
Everyone was quiet for a few minutes before Julia cleared her throat. "So Erica, how was the pack hospital today?"
She shook her head, looking as if she aged 10 years. "It wasn't too bad last night. 3 pregnant women, 2 overly exploring pup who accidentally fell into the river and 10 warriors who needed some rest and fluids this morning."
Nox's chest puffed up and I rolled my eyes at him. He caught it and smirked.
"It didn't get bad until Simon came in carried on a stretcher by three guys. His legs and face were mangled and extreme blood loss."
Nox's smile grew but I smacked his chest. "Sorry about that Missy."
