The bell rang and I quickly grabbed all my stuff and headed to my locker. As I was packing up I started to hear rain hit the roof of the school. Groaning, I started walking to the doors and stopped seeing how bad it was raining. It was like an ocean was on the road. I groaned again and started heading home.
As I was walking I passed the woods and stopped. It was quicker to get home through there and probably drier, but i wasnt allowed to. A couple years ago, some kids around my age went in and never came out. It was a big thing since the crime rate around is so low that the biggest crime was shopplifting.
By the time I decided to go into them I was soaked to the bone. The further I went in the less it seemed to rain but I didnt really take notice to it. I also didn't notice the trees started to change. The roots started to to come above ground forming dome like structures under the trees. It was like I was in a completely different forest by the time I noticed. I was looking around in wonder when I tripped on something and rolled down under one of the root domes and everything went black.

My vision slowly came back and I groggly sat up. I groaned and looked around with my hand on my head. I was still under the tree but it was night time. Slowly, I climbed out from under the tree. I stumbled a little when I got up.
" I must of taken a bigger hit then I thought." I said while looking around. I noticed that sky was brighter than in my town, less smaug-y. I walked forward trying to get home again knowing my mother was worried sick that I still haven't come home yet.
After what felt like forever I finally made it out the forest. It was too dark to see anything but outlines really and I started walking in the direction I think my home is. As I was walking I was looking down and bumbed into something. I fell to the ground and heard a thump in front of me.
" OW WHAT THE FUCK!! WATCH THE FUCK WHERE YOUR GOING FUCK FACE!!" I heard a guy yell. I sat up looked in front of me at the guy as he sat up too. I still couldnt see that well but I could make out his body a bit.
He had red eyes, his hair was tad messed from the fall, and he looked...grey? I shook my head thinking it was just how it was so dark. He also seemed to have something on his head but I couldn't make out what. He didnt look like anyone in my town.
" Are you just going to fucking stare at me or what fuck ass" he said snapping me out my thoughts. I shook my head and said
" I-Im sorry I wasnt looking where I was going"
" well no fuck you wouldnt have bumped me if you fucking were"
I got a little upset with that and said" well you should look were your going cause then you wouldn't have bumped into me" he looked at me dumb founded and I glared at him.
Soon he snorted and got up, holding his hand out to me. " come on you seem new around here" I looked at him confused and slowly grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. He let go and started walking away.
When he noticed I wasnt following he called back " ARE YOU FUCKING COMING OR NOT" and I quickly ran up beside him and we started walking again.
It was quiet for a bit until I cleared my throat and asked "so you haven't told me your name yet" "Karkat and yours?" "Alice" soon it was quiet again and I start getting uncomfortable. "Sooooo....." I trailed off and couldn't think of anything to say.
He looked at me and waited for me to continue. I just looked down and sighed " its to damn quiet for me"
He let out a short laugh and said " well what do you fucking want to do about it"
"well first could you tell me where we are and where we are going"
He looked at me weird for a second then said " we are going to my hive and we are in Alternia"
" Alternia?"
"Yea where the fuck else would we be?"
"Earth, north america, united states, places like that"
" wait....are you fucking human?"
" umm yea what else would I be a turtle?"
He stayed silent after that and continued walking but he seemed to move faster. I shrugged it off and continued with him. Soon we reached a....house? I think. We walked in and Karkat turned on a light while I looked around.
"Are you fucking hungry?" He asked. I looked at him about to shake my head when I noticed what he looked like.
He really was grey and the things on his head were nubs of candy corn colored horns and he had sharp shark like teeth. I gasped and sputtered out things.
"YOUR...YOUR....I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE!!"
He sighed and looked down "im a fucking troll, you insufferable bulge ." I stared at him wide eyed and mouth agape. Soon it registered and my mouth slowly turned Into a smile and I laughed. Karkat looked at me weird.
"That....that is so cool" I started laughing again. He shook his head and walked through a doorway and asked again " are you fucking hungry?"
"No...no im good" 'this is going be interesting' I thought and walked in after him.
