JANNETTE:
Since her mother died four years ago, Jannette had never been the same. She used to be a girl like all the others, she had just started high school and had lots of friends. There was even a guy she liked, or at least she thought so. Her father remarried, two years later, with this blond Welsh woman who he apparently had an affair around two years before Jannette was born. They went to live together and together with her came also her daughter, Kimberley. From the moment she saw her, she wasn't able to remove her from her head. At the start she was so confused, and she didn't know why. Jannette even got an older "boyfriend" called Mark to prove herself she wasn't in love with Kimberley. Unluckily she couldn't get rid neither of her feelings nor of Mark. She woke up trying to kick away those nasty memories from her head. It was early morning and she decided to stay still to play a prank on Kimberley...
KIMBERLEY:
As the sun came in, cutting through the curtains, Kimberley woke up. Next to her she could feel the warmth of her step sister Jannette's body. She was breathing heavily, totally submerged in her sleep. Her black hair looked so smooth and soft, she kind of felt like touching her. She held out her pale right hand, but it got swiftly caught mid-air by Jannette who quickly turned around and suddenly kissed her on the lips. Kimberley didn't back off, it was like being in apnea. Their hands crawled into the pajamas. She smelled so nice. Her breath was like mint and strawberry. Her lips felt like gentle rose petals. They rolled in the bedsheets until they were all wrapped up like sushi, only then they let go of each other. Kimberley was trying to stay a virgin but lately it was becoming harder and harder. "If I could go back in time, I'd kill father over and over again, so I could meet Jannette over and over again..." Thought Kimberley to herself.
MARK:
Mark HATED when Jannette did that. And she always did that! It was all her stepsister's fault. Mark assumed she was sincere when she became his girlfriend but now she is hooking up with her sister! Perhaps his parents were right. He shouldn't hang out with her anymore. "Disgusting girl" he said as he walked away from her window. "I will make you pay!" Then he wandered off to school.
JANNETTE:
As she arrived at school, she was ready for what was going to happen: that jerk Mark was waiting for her at the entrance. "So why didn't you come to fitness training yesterday?" he asked,
"I'm tired of meeting you so many times every week, give me some time for myself" Jannette brutally answered. Mark didn't take the answer very well:
"Damn it Jan! Don't you love me anymore? I still do, as much as two years ago! But you, you... Monster!" Mark barked as he fiercely kicked a poor table over.
"J-just give her some time to think about things. I-I'm sure you also need it." Kimberley joined the discussion. "A-at least a week, you put your feelings in peace. I-I'll talk to Jannette in private a-and then we'll meet." As she finished trying to convince Mark to let them be, Mr. Willets barged in shouting:
"Hey you! Older dude! You are not allowed to be in here and stop annoying my girls" Mark left but before leaving he yelled:
"Ok, fine, whatever. But we will meet in exactly a week right after school, at the cliff of the killer rabbits..." That was intense...
KIMBERLEY:
Kimberley tried persuading her stubborn sister and conversating with her but the only answer she received was a striking kiss. One week flew away like a dead brown leaf in an autumn wind. The day before the appointment, Jannette called her to talk in private. With nobody home to listen, she locked her in the kitchen with an ominous expression on her face. "I'll go straight to the point: we had a child, who now is my selfish boyfriend which is also the person that hates you the most." Kimberley's brain started clouding, there were butterflies in her stomach, her sight grew dim. "H-how does this make any sense? I-I d-don't understand." Her response was quick: "Do you think anything here makes sense? Read the introduction, does it make sense? Does the fact that I realize we are in a story make sense? Does the fact that you are still a virgin even though we had a child make sense? Does the fact that we had a child being both females make sense? Does the fact that there is a cliff called: the killer rabbits' cliff make sense? No."
MARK:
He waited for about two hours in the freezing Wellish wind, but it was his fault after all. He couldn't sleep so he came very early. He was thinking about why it was called the cliff of the killer rabbits, perhaps it was because of that meteor shaped as a rabbit that came crashing down 20000 years ago, when at last he saw them walking in the distance. When they were close enough he lifted Jannette by the neck and threatened her. "So, what did you do in my absence huh? I bet you had lots of fun without me!" Jannette didn't respond, she just stood still, lifeless. Kimberley couldn't watch her step sister and lover in that condition, so she fiercely kicked Mark in the nuts. He screamed and carefully backed off in pain. What he didn't notice was a vicious little rock, strategically positioned. He tripped. She slipped. She fell.
JANNETTE:
She was falling down. One tiny moment which felt like an infinity. Then she finally hit the water. It was a strange feeling she had never felt before, she felt warm but also cold at the same time.
THE KILLER RABBIT KING:
The sea waves were always so repetitive and boring. Nobody ever came to visit them, and they were hungry. The family of the killer rabbits was going extinct, no more sweet memories to feed on, until a weird girl came falling down the sky. Stupid humans! Now that she was here, her memories would have fed his family for weeks, even months! They killed her memories and fed. Afterwards he put the memories in the fridge to conserve them. For respect and so that she would come back, they let her go.
KIMBERLEY:
She couldn't hold herself anymore. It was simply too much. She took out a pocket knife with her name on it from her handbag. With a homicidal look on her face she told Mark: "I am your mother!" then she attacked. Mark was stunned for a second, just a precious second that let Kimberley strike first. She striked the heart, there wasn't much left to do for Mark. He fell in the sea and before dying, the killer rabbits ate all his memories. And his body. Kimberley cried. She cried so much that her tears bonded with the ocean until they became one the same. The rabbits started jumping above the water like frantic fish. It was like they were making a path. Kimberley jumped in the water. The killer rabbits offered her a choice: her memories in exchange for her sister's life. Kimberley loved Jannette so much that she accepted, what she didn't was that Jannette was safely on the shore. Kimberley was eaten and sent next to her sister right after. She woke up spatting sand and all wet. She couldn't remember what happened. Next to her there was a girl with smooth long black hair. She didn't know who she was, but she felt like she was bonded to her somehow. She felt happiness because she knew that this, somehow, was a magic moment.
