As she walked down those dark, grim, dusty halls for the final time she felt a ping of sadness, she didnt know why though, her whole life had been leading up to this moment- leaving the hell hole.
For a while now Anne had come to a realisation that leaving school was actually very scary. This meant she was alone. Alone with no one to talk to because everyone would move on and forget about Anne. No one would care to check up on her. As you leave school no one really stays in contact- there is the odd friendship that happens to stay together through it all, but as we know that's very rare.
She looked up at the poster her and Sally had made back in 10th grade. It actually made Anne giggle to herself. This poster was for homecoming, the girls had so much fun making this poster, riding on their bikes from store to store buying all the essentials to make their poster the best. Obviously it won, so they plastered the poster all over the school. Homecoming was busy and most people said they came because of how many posters where around the school and they felt like they needed to go. They did go a bit overboard, but it was a hit.
As Anne pushed those horrible heavy metal doors, the sun hit her face and she was surrounded by the warmth of the sun and the comforting smell of the greenery. The smell the the damp grass from the condensation on a cold night, the smell of fresh flowers like when you make a perfume from water and Rose's. It felt good to be free. Something caught Anne's attention in the corner of her eye, red and blue flashing lights. Emergency services. Why the hell would they be here. Anne curiously wondered over to see what all the hustle and bustle was about. She looked over the medics shoulder to be dawned upon a stretcher. Someone was dead. But who?
Anne was filled with curiosity but also fear. Who had killed this person? But most importantly, where is the killer?

As soon as Anne arrived at her door step her mother threw herself in her daughter's arms glad she was okay. School must have called.
"Anne honey, did you hear the news?"
"I saw the dead body mom"
She couldn't get the image out of her head of the person's arm lifelessly falling towards the floor. The only time she had ever seen a dead body was when her dad passed. But thats not something Anne likes to think about. After Anne's father died her and her mother inherited everything. Anne's mother and father were wealthy people. Very wealthy. But she hates people knowing this because everyone seems to treat her differently. Anne didn't like attention she liked staying in the shadows, staying away from all attention.
"Anne do you know who's body that was?"
Anne thought to herself, she never actually saw the body, it could really be anyone.
"No"
"Okay sweetie well we find out tomorrow"
She didnt know why but Anne had a really bad feeling about this.

Anne couldn't sleep that night, she kept thinking the worst. Was this person killed by a student? Had she been going to school with a killer this whole time? Or was it a teacher? Was there a criminal teaching them this whole time? I mean mr crane was always really weird and he always read murder books but I mean he always seemed so nice and no one would suspect. She was over reacting. This girl or boy could've fallen down the stairs and died from neck injuries or blood loss. But she never heard a scream. She would of heard a scream. Okay Anne was thinking into this too much, she needed sleep.

Anne woke up at 6am the next morning ready to go to school when her mom came into her room with a face full of sorrow, so much sadness, like all the happiness from her face had been drained. Had they told her who's body it was?
"Anne, I need to talk to you." Says Alice
"What is it mom?"
"They ran DNA tests on the body... they know who it is."
"Okay... mom tell me, who is it?"
"Its.. its Sally!" Alice immediately started to break down, Sally was like a second daughter to Alice.
This couldn't be happening. No this is a dream. None of this is real. Anne starts to sink to the floor, she feels herself slipping away. No not here. She needs to get out. She needs to scream. Loud. Really loud. But her vision is too blurry to even stand up. Her knees are shaking uncontrollably. Sally was Anne's best friend. They had done everything together. Nothing they done had been done separate. Sally was the only person that Anne spoke to about anything. She WAS her everything.
