Jacob ran across the field plasma fire raining down on him. His platoon's mission was to by enough time for the cities to be evacuated. He ran to cover inside a abandoned house with his fellow marines returning fire on the covies. He exchanged glances with the marines in the building, he didn't like the looks on they're faces. He knew they were thinking that maybe they would not make it out of this alive. He looked throughout the window and saw several grunts and an elite minor running across the field. He took aim and fired at the minor the combined fire from the marines with him dropping it fast. The grunts lasted even shorter all falling from well placed headshots. The marines quickly reloaded they're guns and took cover as more plasma fire soared over they're heads. Jacob heard a loud screeching noise getting closer and looked up in time to hear a marine shout "fucking wraith! Get down" As every thing went black and ringing in his ears.
